Niche Angst Don't Forget to Have Some Fun
One of the things that seem to be happening more and more is that folks are searching online prior to making that purchase and also making that purchases online. With the advent of smartphones, everone seems to be doing it across all the generations as well.
Picture this if you will 50-year old male searching online with frying pan hands, doing " the double tap " both thumbs tapping that smartphone screen searching for that new fishing reel.
I may have been missing in action like when did that happen, his son showed him how to do it, so that tech knowledge is working its way up the age ladder.
So for all you folks writing product reviews, the news is all good, tapping into the product review market can be a rewarding enterprise.
Finding that little piece of review paradise is another thing altogether.
Niching down can be such a serious business and one that can cause a lot of angst. It can sort of become one of those decisions that we mull over like our life depends on it kind of things. Like you are never going to make another decision again for the rest of your life.
One of the pitfalls that can trap young players and the not so young and I know that it tripped me up is that we can just take everything just way too seriously.
That first niche like your first anything can be the most challenging and when the decision is made good or the bad your most memorable. Just like your first online sale it will stay forever etched into your experience.
One of the things that we hear over and over again is to find your passion, it is that energy that most of us with our busy lives find so hard to do.
Initially, I had that epiphany moment and thought yay I can do this, it fitted the bill it was in an evergreen niche.
Health
Wealth
Relationships.
It was a real sitter, health, ready audience, products and services that are selling well fitted into my demographic and was just what every baby boomer needed good to go.
The trouble was I wasn't ready, to spend the next eternity creating content to satisfy the needs of the ready waiting audience.
I sometimes wonder if we all of us don't go through that phase that challenge and self-doubt. One of the things that can make the difference is a knowledge that is aligned with a particular skill set. In the beginning it can be hard, that phase doesn't last.
So starting out take your time, it is not a race so time spent researching and reflecting can make all the difference.

Moral of the story don't panic and like that saying goes, "your first anything may not be your last ".
Once you get into the flow, it seems that nothing is impossible and if we work at it and get in with the right crowd then we can truly work beyond our capacities and create things which we can truly be proud of.
I would say that you folks at Wealthy affiliate are the right crowd, well you are for me, they may be for you as well.
So that all said one of the things that can get lost in the mix is that no matter what we do, we should always remember to have some fun along the way, there is that saying all work and no play.
Don't forget to have some fun along the way.

Thanks for this great blog and good reading at the same time. It is so true though that a lot of people do take things too seriously.
I always think that I'm the opposite in that I probably don't take things seriously enough. However I certainly can be very serious when I need to be.

Classic Cheryl, adventure is probably my best subject definitely get a AAA+.
I have been fielding some questions from some newer folks, we can at times get so bogged down in it, that we forget to enjoy the process and the journey. I haven't come across anyone yet that has managed to break the internet with the goals and aspirations.
That is the way to go finding that balance can be so beneficial in so many ways if you have it then package it up and promote it.

That is so true Mike I see the guys in the MMO niche out there promoting it 48/7 I wonder if they ever sleep, it does take energy.
Product reviews are the way to promote and sell things for sure.
Get product, product reviews going right and one can live off the crumbs off the table so to speak.
Great post Alex. A lot of good tips here. Even though we may already know some of these things, there is some interesting new niche info here as well. And it never hurts to be reminded about the things that slipped to the back of our mind.

I am definitely one of those people that thinks too much. My first website is taking longer than I expected. It has alot of research required as I don't want people to be confused.
