Make Your Self a promise Only Things That Build Count

There can be so many distractions on the internet it is a place famous for it. Some have been asking about some other programs; it can be so tempting.

Two questions to ask your self:

Is this going to create business for me?

Is this going to help me to build my business?

Challenged, then make yourself a promise!

No matter where you are online, make yourself that promise that you are going to focus on the things that will make things happen for you. It seems to run in cycles folks find something that works, and then the "grass is greener gene" kicks in, and hey presto people are running off chasing the next best new thing because it will make things happen quicker and of course, make them more money.

Investing in a Future;

Look at investing; the golden rule, only borrow money or time to invest in something that will create a net gain and increase in value.

Never borrow time or money for things that have or create a net loss.

Keep Focused for a minimum of six months, through thick and thin, rain, hail or shine. It can be a mindset thing; if I change midstream, things won't change because my head is in a space whereby I think the change will create a new set of results.

No, it was never going to happen because you move forward with the same mindset: the same ideas and perceptions, just a different address.

While I am mentioning things;

Try not to get what I call the " Wix Wobbles. " I hear at times Word Press is hard, there is a learning curve, and page builders are easy. Rather than following through, it can be easy to look at reasons why it's not happening in a way that exceeds our expectations.

Word Press powers about 30% of all sites online; it is the dominant player in terms of users. It is not that hard when you grasp the basics. There is time enough to get expert; it happens by default through use.

I am, seeing, more and more, folks coming and saying;

"ah there's this cool program, and people are making money using it, I am tempted to have a look at it."

That freight Train question with a twist!

"What do you think? I value your input, please help me!"

Well;

"The cleaver fox that chases two rabbits catches none!"

Based on observations over the years, and I am not in the habit of stealing wheat off of blind chooks, but in this instance, I could say that you will fade out here, and you will make no money there.

Why because the head is in the wrong space.

If you are tempted, stop and think about what you are doing here and what Wealthy Affiliate has to offer and follow through.

Make yourself that promise to build your core foundation before you run off into the wild blue yonder.

Your future successful you will thank you for it.

I guess that is me ranting.

What do you think?

"The cleaver fox that chases two rabbits catches none!"

That is a brilliant phrase and one that I haven't heard before. It makes perfect sense and sums it all up in one line.
Building a foundation can be a grind but it ultimately means that we have firm and solid footings upon which to build.
Thank you Alex.

Hi, Twack, thanks for dropping by;

Invariably we can look at the community and see so many folks running themselves ragged. If the foundation is solid folks just get on and do stuff.

I was watching some old-time builders setting out a floor laying down a wooden foundation, they didn't have to talk about it just got on with it, done and dusted within a day.

The next day a crew of young guys turned up, they must have spent half the day planning out what they were going to do, and how they were going to do and who was doing what, then they had to shoot away because they didn't have enough materials.

Before you knew it, the day was over, so glad I am not paying for that project.

In only doing what counts we are stepping forward to creating second nature. In second nature things zing.

Alex

That's so true. I was talking of something similar, though maybne slightly of the main topic, with a friend the other day. We both knew someone who could tune the carburetors on a car with a stethoscope and do it better than any any of the modern gadgets and gizmos.
I wonder that because much of the 'old ways' have been replaced with new ideas and technology, there is a lack of understanding of why things are, or were, done the way they are. You don't need a laser to check if a floor is level, a marble will do just fine.

You hit on a very good point. I made a similar observation in my latest blog post. That being that fear being the opposite of commitment. When we fail to commit it is fear that tends to be the culprit. For instance say you've been at this a while and still aren't were you think you should be. Well fear would reason that because it hasn't happened that it is never going to happen whereas commitment leads to the idea that it may not have happened yet but it will.
I really like and absolutely agree that it's all about having the proper mind set. How you view and think about any situation determines said relations to it.

Hi Joseph, thank you for sharing your thoughts, much appreciated.

I guess we can all attest to that, how many times have we all put the handbrake on, it is kind of like being the last kid to jump off the rock into the water below at the river.

The exhilaration when we come up for air after jumping.

It is true mindset is what helps us to achieve.

So easy to stay still and not move forward.

Embracing change and recognizing the things that hold us back can be a breakthrough that we will never look back from.

You’re right Alex, Keeping focus can be challenging to some of us. It’s important to fight the temptation to chase 2 rabbits.
Thanks for the insightful post.
Jane

Hi Jane, for the ones who are here and continue to work our way forward we can kind of see the forest for the trees.

Some people come and settle for a while and then float away and pop up somewhere else online still searching, for what they had when visiting Wealthy Affiliate.

Some days can be challenging, that is when the support of a community of like-minded individuals can be worth their weight in gold.

Thank you for commenting.

Great advice, Alex.

For members new to affiliate marketing, I do understand their manner of looking at other 'platforms' - a better word being 'shiny objects'. Without previous experience, they have no comparisons.

For members who have had considerable non-profitable time in affiliate marketing before finding WA, I do not understand why they would look for an alternative programme.

As we know, Wealthy Affiliate is, without doubt, the absolute best way to become a successful affiliate marketer. Along with desire and dedication to follow the training, success will happen.

Alex, I hope your 'rant' is widely read and deeply absorbed.

Valerie

Hi, Valerie good to see you, I hope all goes well for you.

Thank you for your thoughtful response, I have to agree with you for people who are newer to the affiliate marketing industry the search can continue when we do not realize what we have at our disposal.

The knowledge base, training and resources provided are second to none the job that we have is to make the most of what is available.

Alex.

Thanks for your response, Alex.

It's good to catch up again. I can't believe almost half this year has gone and I've done very little. I'm just getting back into it and focusing on what I can produce in the next six months.

Best wishes,
Valerie

I know Valerie, I think that the emergence of COVID has had a dramatic effect on much and many.

It is so understandable that we are not performing to our fullest potential.

I for one have taken an old fashioned canning and was really struggling for a while, since pivoting things are coming back around and moving forward, the next six months are going to be challenging and yet very rewarding.

Hence the reflections in this post, here in WA we have what we need, I have been talking with some folks working the online world many are starting to struggle to keep things ticking over and preserving the positions that they have created.

Best wishes Valerie, so fortunate to be in New Zealand, at this time.

I agree with you Alex, and thank you for your kind words.

Sending best wishes to you, too.

Valerie

Reminds me of the saying ‘the jack of all trades is the master of none’
I couldn’t agree more..I think it’s important to stay focused and maintain your belief you will succeed in what you originally set out to do.

Well said Alex.

Ray

Hi Ray,

I haven't heard that one for a while, in these times so true. It is vitally important to stay focused on the outcomes that we aspire to achieve.
