If You See Someone Stumble Reach Out

The world of internet marketing, going by those that promote it can be as simple as falling off a log. One of the first culture shocks that we are exposed to is, that is not the case and it is not so easy as it seems.

That timeless classic springs to mind;

Build it and they will come.

I will leave the jury to return a verdict on that one.

Much of the initial phases of the online journey are a solitary expedition into the unknown for many, who are to a large degree buoyed along by tall tales and true from the legendary past. Once you immerse especially in a location like Wealthy Affiliate, within a very short time you are speaking a different language to the folks that are around you.

It can be a hard journey, and many folks fall by the wayside, so being involved in a community of like-minded folks sharing a common interest and desires can make the journey that much easier to tread. Those hard times and time of self-doubt are kind of leveled out with support.

One could go so far as to say that it is one of the main things that separates Wealthy Affiliate from the rest of the platforms that offer focused online education and resources.

I see a lot of folks come here and work away only to fade away into the shadows, it is kind of sad and it is doubly sad if you see them pop up somewhere else online still searching for that elusive key to online marketing success.

This thought just arrived as thoughts do and just thought that I would share. The online world can be about building connections, sharing and networking, that is OK if you are good at that kind of thing if you are not it is a struggle, communities are so good for lifting performances and sharing the load. That's what we have here at WA, it is something really special and I am sure that it helps many folks to perform better than if they were struggling along by themselves, working all day and a half the night to try to create and craft that online presence.

We all tend to follow people and by the nature of it people follow us,

We build networks and learn from each other, sometimes folks will hit that hard patch, after a while you get a sense for it, they were around one minute and now they are not and slowly but surely they drift away, their internet career on life support. If you notice someone in your crew struggling, don't be shy to reach out, sometimes that connection can be the one thing that gives them the jump start that they need.

I am not saying go crazy, PM'ING every single person of your tribe, I am saying try to be mindful when we see that folks are drifting off. Even just call past their profile and offer a comment doesn't have to be a novel, just ask how they are doing, go to their last post or question and offer a comment. If you know them just a pm to let them know you are thinking about them, you care and just that offer of support.

No fun being at the top of the mountain if there is no one to share it with.

Reach out, it doesn't take a lot of time and it could be just what that person needs at that point in time. I rabbit on about that training here at WA, it is so subtle weather by design or evolution it gives so many opportunities to learn and grow. If we can help each other we all grow and develop which in turn makes Wealthy Affiliate the strong and dynamic platform that it is.

Wishing everyone a very happy Easter, with friends family and loved ones.

Try to get a little screen downtime. llllllllllllllllooooooooooooooollllll.

A good reminder Alex.

If someone stumbled in the street next to us we would reach out and help them, probably because we see them and are aware of their difficulty.

Because online world is so immense and "unseen", we have to open our eyes to see others in trouble. You can only do this if you're present and conscious of what is and isn't going on around us.

Happy Easter!

~Mark :)

Hi Mark, well said a very thoughtful response thank you.
I think that we all get so busy in one way or another that it can be hard to keep tabs on all that is going on around us.
Creating a presence takes time and dedication, learning in a community situation can have huge benefits, becoming aware can pay real dividends.

This is really a great post, Alex. It feels me with both anticipation and trepidation: with anticipation because the training has started well for me, with Level 1done and dusted and I am well into the first lesson of the Affiliate Bootcamp. The trepidation: I am in Level 2 of the training and it has just struck me that I may not have anything new and unique to add to the niche I have chosen: digital photography. Anxiety has struck! I am passionate about it, but what unique angle, what unique twist for that important keyword rich post to my website?!

A real dilemma. As I figure that out, I continue with the training at Affiliate Bootcamp. One thing I do know, the solution will come, but any suggestions will be welcome.

Thanks again for a wonderful post, and do enjoy your Easter too.

All the best
Mojalefa.

Good to meet you Mojaefa, it can be challenging at times, if you have stalled on your niche site then it is a good idea to pursue the affiliate boot camp, think of it as laying a foundation, with that core knowledge we can build things out.
Digital photography can be a competitive niche, so the best way to move forward is to drill down, what aspect of Digital photography really excites you, the one that you could talk about all day long without tiring of it.
One of the things I think about is ok what am I going to sell or promote but more importantly what are folks buying and what information are they looking for. I think that it is a good thing to let things just sit the ideas kind of flow if we don't push too hard.
Best wishes and if you get stuck just reach out.

Thanks for the advice, Alex. I think it is helpful ... and encouraging.

Have a great Easter weekend.
Mojalefa.

You are most welcome.

A very nice and thoughtful post, Alex. Thank you.

It is so very true that being involved with a community such as WA is a tremendous help as opposed to going it alone.
But, even in a crowd we can feel lonely and isolated. It just goes that way for many. Of course individual personality has much to do with it and those that lean towards being introvert by nature can get lost in the crowd.

I wish you a very Happy Easter. Enjoy some quiet time with family and I look forward to your next blog.

Hi Valerie, that is so true, getting around the internet you get to see where other folks are losing out, what we have here at WA is truly unique, the community continues to evolve in a really dynamic fashion. When folks are stuck in no man's land it is hard to keep the momentum going we are as a species very results motivated, sometimes that little helping hand can be all that it takes for people to keep going.
On the flip side of the coin, building networks can be one thing learning how to interact and manage networks is another thing altogether.

It can be hard for some folks to interact in the online world, remembering back to the starting line, it can be really hard, at those times just that little encouragement can make all the difference. Definitely, as you say easy to get lost in the crowd.

Thank you for your kind wishes looks like it is going to be lovely weather over the Easter break, have an enjoyable time.

Nice again Alex!

So many people PM and ask I am doing!

I have the best life Paradise in many ways and then sometimes it turns into a right 'Ball-ache' - rough with the smooth? Never one without the other!!

People that take time to care for others is just wonderful!

I will do better myself!

Wayne

I guess there is always the other side of the coin, even in the paradise where you are living, I like how you expressed that one.
We can gain so much by engaging and sharing.
One of the real pluses about WA is the community and how folks are always here sharing and caring.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Thank you, Alex, good to know there are folks out there who are interested.

Life online is a solitary affair, we become part of this huge family and in general everyone is very nice, but in reality, we are alone at our laptop when we attempt to do anything. It is up to us to do or not to do, and the easiest person to fool is yourself.

Reaching out helps us to stave off those thoughts of doing it another day. Staying engaged with the community helps to keep us going.

Thank you for the post.

Alex

Hi Alex,
I think that you have expressed how many folks feel, the community and engaging in it offers us an excellent opportunity to both learn but also get that feeling of support.

When we are in that no man's land it can be a struggle.

I think that you have raised such a valid point, Alex, the easiest person to fool is our selves, it can even trip up the best marketers and content creators so being aware and honest with ourselves can help to keep us grounded.

Thank you for sharing your insights Alex much appreciated.

Thanks for reaching out, Alex. This is a very encouraging post.

Reading this is much more encouraging and inspiring than fellow members' earnings.Post of monetary achievement can be inspiring but reading too many of them created my self-doubt. It can be frustrating knowing people are earning $$ - $$$, yet not me. Don't get me wrong, I am happy for anyone who is earning but when is it for me.

Well, at least I know following the training here brings result.

I am struggling but moving forward one step at a time.

Thanks again,
Sharon

Hi Sharon, thank you for responding and sharing your thoughts and experiences. It can be hard when we constantly see success all around us, and we are struggling to make the grade so to speak. It is good to read of people succeeding, in terms of our own reference we can start to doubt our abilities and I think that is where that whole pay it forward community orientation comes into its own.
One of the things that have really inspired me is that we all know more than we give ourselves credit for, some folks have more time and resources to expend so the results are relative, the key is to keep going it comes around, as a matter of course.
That whole collective sharing can be the one thing that keeps us going, best wishes there Sharon, if you are struggling just reach out.

I agree, Alex.

I am still around and will be for a long long time.

The place kind of grows on you, the knowledge resources and community are hard to beat a winning combination for sure.

thanks for that.
i could write a book on the pluses and minuses about this but i shall refrain and continue to work on my own doubts and fears ... laboring in solitude trying continue to move forward taking to heart that while i have a long way to go on this road i am way further along than it thought i would be.

Feel free to share Steven, one of the things that set's WA apart is the support and sharing of the wonderful folks that are here working way to create some enhanced lifestyle opportunities. Creating a balance can be key, best wishes as you continue to grow your online presence.

That was a great post and very informative. You are absolutely right about reaching out to help another one who is having trouble. Like me, I still don't know how to link Jaaxy to my website. Every keyword that I put in did not bring my website up. And I don't know how to do that. I guess I will just have to figure it out. And I don't know how to link my site with social media either. I talked your head long enough but you did a great post thanks for the advice.

Mary

Oh no Mary you are having some problems,
If you are looking for your Jaxxy affiliate link try going here,

https://my.jaaxy.com/affiliate/details

I presume that you have created your website here in WA you should be able to access your site/sites here,

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites.

Just reading between the lines, have you done or doing the training because much of your issues are covered there just a matter of working your way through it, do the training.

You are premium so I think the social and Jaaxy are covered in Phase three of the Affiliate Boot camp, in the certification course, level four mastering social engagement Thank you for stopping by, just work your way through the training and try not to skip ahead it will all fall into place for you.

Best wishes sing out if you are still stuck.

I am still on the certification courses I haven't even gone into the Bootcamp courses yet. I am only on Certification Course 5 Lesson 1. That is how far I am. I will review the videos again.

Mary

Sounds good Mary, go at the speed that suits you best the thing we need to remember is that we are running our own race and it is better to get a through understanding as we move through the training it can save time in the long run best wishes.

Nice post, Alex,

It's good to expose what can be pitfalls to us. You are bringing awareness to the benefits of a like minded community.

I am just looking over at your unbelievable number of 377 posts!
When did you start this, when you were about 12 years old?
That is amazing!

I will definitely get some information and direction from these.

Thanks again,
Timothy

Hi, Timothy thank you for stopping by, much appreciated, time fly's by and the thought that pops into my head is the one about finding your passion, if and when we do we never have to work another day in our lives.

The online world can be like that.

With online marketing, it is something that we mature into, along the way we pick up many skills relating to folks is and can be at the top o\f the list, aligned with this is creating build and managing networks, WA provides so many opportunities to learn and grow.

Classic I had way too many more important things to do when I was twelve as you do lol. Funny thing is that when I arrived at WA couldn't write my way out of a wet paper bag, you could say that I and writing were not very good friends, like all good friendships it is something that grows and develops over time.

One of my catch crie's at the moment if we can talk we can write.

Thank you for stopping by glad that you found some value in this post best wishes for your online journey.

Hi Alex,
Thanks so much for your encouraging article. Like all of us at one time or another, have that "end of the road" experience where we just want to "chuck it all" and just sit and watch a ballgame or something.

This wonderful WA Community has helped me to get up and go on when I didn't think I could.

This is why I am here for anyone who wants to chat about your journey so far or needs any kind of help that I could give.

Have a wonderful week.

Bill

That is so cool Bill and I am sure folks reading may take you up on that offer. I like how you expressed that, the end of the road experience, it probably happens more than what we think, I think that is the great thing about working and from a community base it helps us to lift our game and at times cover pour shortcomings.
We are helped so we help in turn.
Thank you for sharing much appreciated.
