If you park in a hollow not so good when it rains

Water Finds Its Own Level!

The thing about water is that it always finds its own level, ever so true if it starts to rain heavily and you happen to be in a low spot; this looked like such a good camping spot. The water has subsided and today is rescue day, not sure what I will find; I got caught in a deluge. It rained so heavily that the only option was to abandon ship. The first option will definitely be shifting to higher ground.

It is good to get away into the wilderness for a time of reflection, planning, and this time around, a writing retreat. I run using solar power and cell phones as a hot spot. To get that connection, also use different providers as the coverage can be patchy.

Online you can work anywhere.

The thing about being online is that we can work it from wherever we can create a connection. You don't have to be in the city or close to a town; we can be anywhere. That concept is hard to transition into. It was a classic the other day. I am sitting in the shade of a tree doing some business with some folks in Phoenix, Arizona; it's on the other side of the planet. Currently, it's like 12 o'clock their time, and for me, 7 am the following day, someone stops by to ask what I am doing; I explain. It was so out of place. You don't expect to meet someone engaging like that in the middle of nowhere. I know it went straight over their heads; they were doing that slow mental computing process where the cogs are turning over in their heads, and it is displaying on their face.

" what so you are, what, run that by me again" that kind of stuff cracks me up.

When you are sitting inside the internet marketing castle with all your virtual associates and friends, and it is surrounded by a mote of cyberspace, you can lose track of the real world. We can become so focused that we can lose focus without even realizing if that makes sense.

That definitely happened to me; too much time online, it can be a subtle process. It can impact all aspects of your life. I definitely recommend creating a balance; anything that becomes too intense will have consequences somewhere else; that is the way it is. This can be demonstrated here in the WA community; if you are spending excessive time here, then you are losing time somewhere else, be it on your business, your website, time with family, friends, and if you are in a relationship time with your better half.

Something has to and will give.

The start of any year, month, a week can be a good time to take five and evaluate where you stand. Investing quality time in any endeavor is way more productive than that focused, unfocused time. It is kind of abstract because it is almost like you can manufacture time if you organize yourself. Moving forward, it can be about creating space where there was none.

If you are living that hybrid life offline and online, you are a new breed. The majority of people go online for entertainment; very few make that transition to a place where the online world could be a way to generate an income and lifestyle; it is true. In the transition, we have to be mindful of what we are doing. If we can create that balance, then things do fall into place, the journey becomes a pleasure to pursue. If we are always chasing our tails, there will always be stress.

Talking about stress!

The thing about water and electronics is that they do not mix that well they are not and never will be good friends. Especially solar charge controllers and power converters, which are essential in any solar power set up.

The craziest thing in our " cray-cray" world of the moment. Trying to replace both, talk about hen's teeth, talk about first world issues? I can order online; the global supply chain is under pressure; there's a delay in delivery. Enquire in-store, and there is a delay; goods are coming, currently stuck in a container somewhere. Go on a mission to find one, the stores are shut, or they are sold out.

I just managed to track down replacements the last on the shelf with that "premium supply and demand price tag."

All is going well, the rescue mission will be a breeze, the replacement electronics will work a treat, and I will be back in business.

Wish me well.

Interesting Alex. Some good points here. I sometimes think that I am the odd one out as I only use the computer as a tool for business. I never play any games on it and as you say there are so many folks that only play games. A waste of time to me.
Thanks
Bux

There are always two sides to the fence and the grass is always greener on one side.

For us folks that have trantioned to become sellers and promoters as opposed to being buyers the grass is always green.

Have to agree with you Bux.

Alex

Thanks, Alex.

Climb out of the hollow and keep ongoing. It is all we can do.

I often wonder what we did before we were tethered by the online world.

The world has changed so much in our lifetimes and I can only imagine what is coming.

Will, we be will be the next generation that cannot program our VCR - whatever that VCR looks like?

I think we are better prepared, than our parents were, especially those of us who have embraced the freedom of working online. It is not easy to succeed, but it can be done anywhere with a connection.

Alex

Thank you for your thoughful response, things are changing so rapidly, I remember my first cell phone a little brick, the kids look at it and don't associate with a phone.

The latest smart phone is about is about 6mm thick with as much computing power as a laptop.

Being involved online sets us apart for sure.

Very good points you make here, Alex! Great post and thank you for sharing! In WA we can work anywhere, although some places might be a bit more problematic than others!

Jeff

So true Jeff, where we create a connection we can create engagement, some places can present some interesting issues.

That freedom of movement carries with it so many benefits.

Alex

I will totally agree with that, Alex!

Jeff

You survived. Head for higher ground!
Joe

Classic, Joe, always good to be on the high ground.

If I get time to go to my cabin, I don't work. I have to discipline myself just to check emails once daily. To me, that's the beauty of an online business. If I have kept things up when I am home, a few days away doesn't make any difference to my business. My tax accountant has actually told me that if I write on my fishing blog about the equipment that I use on vacation, part of the trip, cabin etc., can be written off. So, when i am using new lures, I guess I am working.

Icing on the cake, Jim kind of like having your cake and eating it as well.

Thank you for sharing your insights and experience. Some real food for thought. Many will be interested with what you say.
