Glass Half Full No Empty Glass Works Best

There is that saying, a glass half full or a glass half empty. Defined it refers to that conceptual thinking where we are continually looking at the opportunities, or not, that may be possible.

Then again could it be, the " glass is half empty or half full?"

When we think in terms of this, it often relates to situations that we face. Some folks look at the glass as being half empty, a pessimistic outlook, and the opposite being half full or optimistic outlook.

It is a litmus test that can define how we approach much in life, and many times, you may hear people refer to a person as being one or the other.

When it comes to the online world, the chances are that we oscillate between both poles. Depending on the slope of the learning curve, that can occur on a daily, nay, I say an hourly basis.

In other words, it can be a natural occurrence, and something to accept that can happen in our marketing journeys. Since when did things go to plan in business and the challenges can be half the fun of being in business.

Either way, we look at it the glass is 50% of the measure.

When it comes to approaching any subject, we can come with a set of preconceived ideas. It is only natural. Looking, it can be those preconceptions or knowledge that can hold us back from obtaining the most out of things. They can be a real handbrake.

I was reminded this over the last month; things can seem hard, or for that matter, you can look at them as if they will not or could not work. Sometimes it can take a certain amount of faith or self-belief that you can make things work.

By approaching them with the mind of the beginner, where all things are possible, we can make it work. We can apply this to anything. It may, at times, feel like we are taking two steps backward; in the long run, we can make many forward using less energy.

On reflection, the best measure is to turn up with an empty glass in that way; we can fill it with new ideas, techniques, and ways of doing things.

Then add that 50%, and then we are running at 150%

Now that is a win-win.

We are creating new outcomes on tap.

Great post Alex. If we focus on the half full part of the glass, we have got the possibility to fill it up to the brim. If on the other hand, we concentrate on the half empty part we might very well drain it all.

Thank you for the share.

Carol

Hi Carol, that is a good way to look at things, at the end of the day we get to choose the direction we are traveling.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Alex

The empty glass concept is a really good one to follow Alex. A new take on brainstorming which could help many people.

Derek

Hi Derek, coming to something that is new to us with an empty glass there are so many opportunities.

With that half glass, we arrive with biases, it can be harder to take on new knowledge.

Brainstorming would be greatly enhanced.

Alex

I like the concept of an empty glass. That is great logic, Alex, and something that has never occurred to me. It also sparks new ideas of organization and design.

Thank you,

Valerie

Hi Valerie, it is coming from a slightly different angle, we come here seeking knowledge only in the beginning we do not actually realize what it is all about.

In the beginning, there can be a glass half-filled with doubt.

If we bring that empty glass there is plenty of room to fill it with knowledge.

Thank you for stopping by.

Have a great weekend.

Alex

Thanks Alex. And a great weekend to you, too.

The empty part of life that is potential of any developments filling it with meaning. I will always want a half-filled glass than a full one that it seems there is no opportunity of gaining any wisdom anymore.

Hi Jimmy, thank you for sharing your thoughts, I like the way that you think.

We all have that space that is empty, it is definitely part of the human condition and we are hard-wired to seek out and find fulfillment.

That is the natural order.

The thing is that arriving with that empty glass the opportunity to fill it up with knowledge is an opportunity not to be missed.

When it is full the only thing left to do is tip the contents into someone else's glass.

Just like the knowledge that flows onto a webpage, and site it is designed to be shared and to help others with their journey.

So the best thing to do is keep that empty glass overflowing, create and share content daily.

Alex

Oh! that's even a profound outlook of life. I like that tipping your glass content into someone else's glass.

Thanks for sharing this interesting piece.
Darren :)

Hi Darren, you are most welcome, had some newer members questioning the value of the WA processes.

It can be hard to create a positive flow when you have a half glass of doubt.

Thought that I would share some reflections.

Thank you for stopping by.

Alex

Thanks, Alex.

Keep it going.

Darren :)

Hi Cinderella, you are most welcome and thank you for stopping by I am glad that you enjoyed this post.

Alex

Hi Alex. I like the way you think. We can fill an empty glass full of knowledge until it's overflowing.
Jim

Hi Jim, thank you for your vote of confidence. Some of our ideas can hold us back.

If we come to a place like WA we definitely need to have an empty glass and then proceed to fill it.

That empty glass can hold a lot more than a half-filled glass.

Thank you for stopping by.

Alex

Hi Alex
It makes me think of "Shampooing the Conditioned Mind" then moving forward with a fresh thought process.

Vicki

Hi Vicki, I really like that one, "Shampooing the Conditioned Mind",

I have to agree with you continued learning can create such a vivid landscape for us to explore, and doing so we can definitely create some cool outcomes.

Thank you for stopping by, have a great and creative weekend.

Alex

Hi Alex. As usual great post.

As usual, my glass is still overflowing with ideas. Not that I mind too much.....

I hope all is going great in your life. Any camping lately?

Hi Sondra, good to see you,

Having an ideas machine that is running in overdrive can be a good thing.

I see so many folks that have got caught in the middle and turned theirs off long ago.

It is so good to cultivate some vibrancy in our lives.

Currently, not so much, working out of an office getting ready to launch an advertising agency......... a bit of a contrast.

Thank you for stopping by and best wishes with those ideas Sondra, the summer will be ticking over.
