Find Your Comfort Zone and Scale it From There

Take a breather and go with the flow, sometimes it is good to swim with the current instead of continuously swimming upstream in that endless battle to get where we are going yesterday, instead of today.

We all have that zone where life is comfortable, that spot where there is no stress. It can be hard to find, these days we all of us just seem to be so busy with all that hustle and bustle that is modern living.

The majority of folks that come to the online world are searching for or wanting to create that special place, to be able to live with a relative stress-free, freedom.
When we think about it, stress presents on several levels, one as positive eustress, or negative stress, distress.
Eustress is positive energy, it is a good stress the one that pushes us to achieve, without mental effort we will not achieve anything it is in the searching and the working out, the connecting of the dots that we do and accomplish at our best, it is with that focused productivity that we create and craft our best work.

True

On the flip side of the coin, we have distress, a negative energy the one that can stop us in our tracks the one who's cumulative effect has negative impacts all around. Hard stress impacts so many folks these days, it is a major disease of our times.

Should we want to define our personal comfort zones, then they are just at that point, just before a stress reaction is about to occur.

You know the one where things are going swimmingly well, only to be faced with the next unexpected thing on the next sudden corner and like its only 9.30 am Monday morning "oh great".

When we stop and think about it, a lot of stress we can manufacture in our own way by how we choose to react or not to what is happening around us.There is that sweet spot between eustress and distress, where we can effectively function at the top of our abilities and in the process keep expanding our ability to be really productive.

Finding that spot can be a work in progress and one that takes a little bit of work, well heaps but well worth it. That vision of the reed being blown in the wind pops to mind, the reed doesn't break, but just goes with the flow.

Why it important step out your comfort zone

The only way that we will find that balance between the two energies is learning how to oscillate between the two zones, learning when to go hard out and learning when to pull back, learning when to stop and come up for air, learning when to jump in at the deep end while you are only just learning to swim, it can be a case of doing it on the way down just before you hit the bottom.

Like someone said some days we just have to back ourselves.

Being aware can be a good place to live, searching and finding our natural rhythms can work wonders, had more than a few folks say to me today.

"Nah not giving up, got no place else to go".

It is kind of like when it's raining we know the sun is going to shine, all we have to do is keep going, and things work out, we find that spot to operate from and it's all good.

Hanging in a place like Wealthy Affiliate is such a subtle proposition we are continuously learning and growing without even realizing at times, some days you will have those blessed breakthrough moments and others it is like you have been waiting for the 5 pm bus for 3 days.

We all know the feeling.

So if we want to long haul it and create sustainability then we need to search out the place in the middle and try not to bring too much pressure around and in on ourselves.

Like someone said tomorrows another day, just do a little more.

Living and working in that stress-free zone brings way more results, find that space where you are comfortable operating from and then when the energy feels right push that pedal through the floor boards, as long as you are coming out of a corner faster than you go into it, you will always navigate your way around it. ( don't try that one at home folks)

David

Hi, David, you are most welcome and thank you for reading I hope that you got some value from the post.

Stress is a double edged sword because the pressure can bust a pipe or create a diamond. It really comes down to how you cope with it and release the energy, positively or negative. Thanks I enjoyed the read!
God bless,
Marcus

Hi,m Marcus that is a very relevant point it all comes down to how we handle the stress that is in our lives, and recognizing where we sit on the stress ladder can give us the edge when dealing with it, have a stress free journey.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, much appreciated.

We could all use less stress....

Hi Russ definitely, it makes for a better journey. Sometimes that positive stress can bring out the best in us.

This is an excellent post, really enjoy your perspective. I have never come across eustress, I thought you had made a spelling mistake. Very interesting new word.

Classic Tania a few folks have commented that it may be a mistake, everything has a ying and a yang, the key is finding our ground zero which can be our balanced position and with awareness scale things from there

The more we do the more we can handle, I guess affiliate marketing takes a certain level of online fitness.

It is indeed an interesting word, used to describe that positive stress, thank you for stopping by.

well said, thanks

Hi Steven, thank you for stopping by, it is something to focus on and it can have real benefits business wise moving forward.

"a lot of stress we can manufacture in our own way by how we choose to react or not to what is happening around us."

Now isn't that the truth Alex, and when we realise this in the moment of stress, so it ends. :)

~Mark

Well said Mark, we can create it and also put an end to it. Becoming aware can be so helpful. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
How did the cruise go.

Thank you, Alex!

Only leaving our comfort zone leads us to success!

Hi, Anton so true it is a good place to start from works really well when we establish where our comfort zone sits on the scale of things. thank you for stopping by much appreciated.

Thank you Alex, enjoyed reading your post.

It‘s a matter of finding the balance. I often get stressed, mostly because I want to do everything as perfect as possible. Wish I could be more relaxed. When it gets too much, I use to say to myself ”Calm down, what does all this matter in 100 years from now, on this tiny planet in a vast universe?” It helps me to see the challenges of life from another perspective.

:-)

Thanks for sharing Pernilla, we all suffer from it in one way and another, finding what works for us can be so helpful, sometimes we think that we are alone, not so something we all share in common.
I really like your approach, finding that other perspective can sometimes be the key.

Great post. I hadn’t heard of eustress before. I love that I learn something new here everyday.
With Grace and Gratitude
Karen

Hi Karen, it is kind of one of those words that may not be a word, if that makes sense, eustress means beneficial stress—either psychological, physical (e.g. exercise), or biochemical/radiological (hormesis). The term was coined by endocrinologist Hans Selye, consisting of the Greek prefix eu- meaning "good", and stress, literally meaning "good stress"

One of the really cool things about WA never a day goes by where we are not learning something new or sharing that knowledge, Wealthy Affiliate is such a cool place.
