My site has been up for 3 months and zero comments. I asked a friend to try commenting and he said it doesn't work. I tried figeting with the comment tools in wordpress but I t

It's likely either a theme issue, or you are publishing pages instead of posts. If you are publishing posts, and there is a comment box, but the comments are not working, try another theme and see if that works.

Thanks Nathaniell, turns out it was a plugin issue. It must have been a plugin with a bug or something. But once it was deactivated the comments seemed to work.
I have only 3 pages and over 40 posts now... gotta keep writing, I'm below my target.

Ah, yes. Outdated plugins can cause issues!

I see PastorDre may be able to help you out.

I just wanted to let you know I had this same issue but, when I contacted site support they found out it was my theme that was the issue.

So, the theme support fixed it for me. I hope this helped somewhat. If all else fails you can contact site support or the theme support.

Thank you! I think my problem ended up being a plugin (I had an emoticon plugin for some reason and I don't even use it). I deleted the plugin and the comments were working, PastorDre tested it for me. Thanks for your input :)

In you wordpress dashboard, go to settings>discussions and make sure comments are allowed.

Also,check your theme settings

Yep, comments were always allowed.

Can you private message my your site please?

Authoring & Writing Content

Is it possible for content I write in Word press and the SiteContent application on WA to be synced? I have written a very modest amount of content on word press and even less

It's up to you. I use WordPress, but I joined before SiteContent was a thing. Many new members prefer SiteContent instead because you don't have to log into WP all the time.

You can start a new post or page in Site Content and edit it in WordPress but you can't do it the other way around.

Thank you!

You can't really import from WP to Site Content. The only option I know of there is to copy the post and repost it from Site Content and delete the old one but I don't think that's necessary unless you absolutely want it in Site Content.

I do recommend using Site Content to create your posts going forward though.

Thank you!

Any time.

I'm a little stalled... I am creating content almost daily. I have 15 pages with 50 posts, and averaging about 150 unique visitors/day...
I have only really had the site up

I would start monetising. Good for you for getting so much content done first. :) Beverley

Hi, thank you for your fast response, and your advice. I just graduated and between a bad job market and my infatuation with WA, I have alloted more time to this than to "real" job searching, hence the decent amount of content.
Thank you again for your help!

Hi, I have a personal PayPal account, but I see that there are "merchant" and "Pro" options. I was just curious how to "receive payments"...
- If I have an affiliate link, t

It really depends who you're affiliating with and how they pay - some of them require paypal while others don't and you can opt for them to mail you checks or direct deposit into your bank account.

If you do get paid via paypal it's OK to use your personal account, that is what I do. They just make you tell them your SS number if you want ot transfer amounts larger than $500.

I'm sure there is a point at which a business account is a better option when you start making quite a lot of money, but I'm not sure of the details exactly.

The "buy now" is only if you're selling your own stuff, if you're just affiliating you don't need that because the seller will take care of the purchasing and everything... you just need to worry about sending them off so they can buy the product which you won't have to worry about any of the details... you'll just get the commission!

Ok thank you! I wasn't sure if we just sent them over to the affiliate site, or if we sold the affiliate products on our site (in a more direct sense, hence the 'buy now' button). Thank you for the clarification regarding PayPal as well :)

you need to open a Paypal business account to get started
at Paypal. Where they can give you more detail in what you
want to achieve.

Thank you fastracks :)

I don't think that this is in the correct classroom... I couldn't see one that was strictly related to "payments" or general affiliate marketing vs. the WA marketing...

Hi fellow WA-ers
I am "making the jump" and finally going to integrate social media to my niche site. Thanks to some pointers from WA members already I have been directed to

Jetpack seemed to have more features so I decided to try it out for a month or so.

I would say its preference and research.

By that I mean, watch how people are responding in you. Keep some stats and see which appears to be most beneficial to you.

Also watch to see how you are responding to them. If you feel they are trying to steer you into a direction your not comfortable. Then go in the other direction.

Thank you :)
