There's a great explanation of how to use the tag cloud widget here:

Basically if you tag your posts the tags automatically get put in your sidebar. The tags you use most will be bolded.
Hi guys, I've asked support and they've said it may be a plugin issue but basically I'm trying to access my "kitchen sink" as described via kyle's video in Level 2 training. I'
As support says it is likely to be a plugin issue, that is where ninty five percent of problems come from .Disable all your plkugins and see if that helps
if it was me I would delete them all and solve the problem then add them back one at a time to find out which one is causing the problem
