If you upgrade to premium, the first month is $19, followed by automatic recurring payments of $49 per month. You can cancel at any time, but there are no refunds, and you can't go back to being a free starter again.

1. Membership fees: $19 for the first month, then $49/month after that as long as you are a member. There's no contract for this, so you can cancel any time. You retain the rights to your website and can move it to another host if you cancel your membership.
This includes your website hosting, which is an unavoidable cost if you want to start an online business! The hosting here at Wealthy Affiliate is WordPress optimized (for speed, security, reliability), and is also "managed", meaning there are pros behind the scenes you can contact if you run into technical issues.
Comparable services for managed WordPress hosting are about $30/month for one website, and $100-$250/month for multiple sites depending on the traffic you bring in.
2. TLD Domain Name (.com/org/net). Though WA offers free domain names, for your main business you should use a Top Level Domain. This costs $13.99/year through WA, but you are welcome to use another registrar if you want. I prefer WA because it's cheaper long term
