If You Don't Look Forward to Complicated, Don't Get Into This Relationship!

Hello, my WA friends!

I've been WA-Blog-Quiet for a while, but not without a good reason.

My time has been consumed with learning how to use Divi, Divi Builder and creating my new website.

My, Oh, MY!

IN JUST A FEW CLICKS... YEAH, RIGHT!

Aren't the website builder people clever in showing you how's everything in connection with their product is super easy to do??!

I thought I'd be creating custom-made websites (for living no less!) after 24 hours of purchasing. No, seriously, I thought, blondie that I am, that this couldn't be difficult at all.

A few clicks and grabs here, a bit of text and colour there, and voila - here is your perfect website.

It did not happen like that.

OF COURSE IT DIDN'T!

Anything worth learning, can not be learned in a couple of hours.

I should know - I've been studying singing my whole life and still have lessons to improve whatever I'm singing at the moment.

Online business is no different.

Right now, my head is about to explode with the different information I have amassed about how to use the Divi Builder.

It all feels so so complicated!

And, I LOVE this moment!!!!!!

Because...

AFTER 'COMPLICATED' COMES 'SIMPLE' AND 'EASY'!

Always push yourself to get to the point when everything is almost too much and feels too complicated!

That is good!

You are just around the corner of mastering that something you have been working on!

It will feel so amazing to use that knowledge :)

Now, I'm very proud to say - I've created the Home Page and am half-way through WA Landing page for my new website.

And... it's not looking half bad! ;)

So, off I go to work through my 'complicated' phase some more...

'Simple' here I come!!

Have a great evening everyone. Thanks for reading!

Best, Alenka

What are your experiences in getting through though times when learning something new?

Do you have any good tips how to get to the 'simple' phase?

Thanks,

Alenka

Sometimes it takes a little time to learn how to work it before you can, work it!

Yes, absolutely! Even though it feels like an eternity at the moment! Things just keep going wrong today... Still, tomorrow is a new day and looking forward to sorting it all out by then.
Hope you are having a fab time here with WA training and your online business!
Best,
Alenka

I didn't choose Divi as it's a very complicated theme to get to grips with. Rather than spend months trying to figure my way round it, I opted to work on content for my site, which is always better in the long run.

It's the content which makes or breaks your site, although the theme has its importance, but it's a second priority.

Hello
Thanks for your comment!
I totally agree with you - the content is the most important thing. I've spent the past two months writing the first 30 very long posts for this site and have given myself a month to sort out my new site with Divi.
So far, I'm on track. However, it has been a steep learning curve. Not impossible by any means, one only needs to be persistent. And I'm persistent personified! :)

Best of luck with your online endeavours!
Alenka

Thank you, Alenka...and the best of luck to you too :)

I am having the same experience with Wordpress!

And, I Love it!

Well put!

Hello!
Thanks for your comment!
So glad you understand :)
Best of luck with WP - I was there some months ago...

I've experienced difficulties in building my very first website. It took more time than I want. But I n the end i'm pleased with my learning and comprehension! Best wishes as you move forward!

Hello!
Thanks so much for your comment!
Ah, the first website was a nightmare hehehe but I was absolutely delighted when it was done. And so proud!
Very glad you are advancing with your training and your online business!

Alenka

Great post, Alenka, really enjoyed it, the thing with Divi is that it is well supported and it keeps evolving, I can relate, trying to learn a different CMS at the moment, so true the guys that own or promote it make everything look so easy.

Simple does come, we just have to make that effort to get up over the hill.

Stick with it, Gutenberg is moving to that block based content editor Divi is the same but more advanced with a lot more features, have you signed up to their youtube channel and also there are numerous Facebook groups besides the official one which all have some excellent information.

Best wishes and thanks for the enjoyable read, keep going.

Yes, Divi is great in so many ways. I can see that and am already achieving the look on my site that I thought it would be beyond my capabilities.
I do watch all the tutorials, write notes, and at the moment dream Divi!!
Great advice re Divi FB groups - will head over and join some right now. Thank you!
Hope Gutenberg won't mess up my Divi work... not sure how it could but just thinking out loud.
Good luck with your CMS learning!
Yes, it's all simple once you know how to do it. Determined to get there sharpish!
Best,
Alenka

Classic, it can be a bit of a challenge but well worth persevering with, things will start to fall into place, are you using the visual editor.
I think that they are well up with the play so I think that it will be a seamless transition and there is always the option to use the classic editor when it does if you don't feel comfortable.
The Facebook groups are excellent, a real wealth of information.

Keep going Alenka and all the best

Yes, I'm using the visual builder. That was the main appeal really, because, I find it really difficult to imagine how the post/page looks like unless I can see it immediately.
Thank you for your support!

Alenka

They always said do the easy questions first ! All the best

Hello and thanks for the comment.
The problem is when one is just starting out with something, there are no easy questions. However, they soon do become apparent and the process of learning gets on its way.
Best,
Alenka

I go and do something else like workout or clean when I get too frustrated. And then I go back to it when I feel better. It always comes together eventually.

There is nothing I can offer you other than do what you're doing. Keep at it and eventually, it will become second nature. It's a process. :-)

Hello!
Thanks for your comment! Yes, doing something else is a great way of getting back to focus.
I'm definitely mastering this and determined to become a proper DiviDiva!
Best,
Alenka

We all suffer little things that seem so huge at the time. I think frustration bothers me more than anything else.

Derek

Yes, you are so right - the frustration of not being able to speed things up, more than anything! Still, it's good to persevere, the rewards are great; one just must not give up in the process.
Best,
Alenka

Anytime, I remember feeling the same as you excited, frustrated. All together.

We were the same u will get there.

Thank you for the encouragement!
