Finding Our Blogging Preferences! Too late?

Hello Wealthy Affiliates!

So, here I am, working hard at my blog. No earnings to speak of as yet, but that is ok. I am patient and understand these things can take time.

However, another thing weighs on my mind.

I've discovered what I like and what I don't like when it comes to blogging.

My website is about twins (mommy blog) but as much as I love being a mom, I know now I don't actually enjoy writing about it!

After only three months of blogging and having never done this before, I think this discovery is fine. I don't feel too cut up about it.

But, I need advice, please, on what you, more experienced WA members think might be my options.

I'd love to do the bootcamp and seriously thinking of abandoning my twins blog (for the time being) and just starting another one from scratch.

S.O.S.

Thanks!

I agree with Loes leave it alone and see what happens and just start a new site and make a go of that one. I hope this helps you out.

Hello
Yes, I've received some fab advice here. And encouragement too.
Thank you for your advice and your time :)
Best,
Alenka

You are so very welcome and no problem that is what we are here for is to help each other out.

Thanks! :)

You are so very welcome

I have 7 websites, most are asleep, once in a while I place a blog on it, and once in a while, some money drops in. Last month on one of them, I haven't blogged in ages on it, over $30
Leave it in the air, you never know.

You can start a new one from scratch, no problem:)

Thanks so much for this insight! Honestly, I had NO idea about affiliate marketing (had to look up the word affiliate in the dictionary!) before February this year. I chose the twins theme because that is what busies me all day every day - my twins. But, I'm just not a blogging mommy. Hard to admit, but there it is hehehe.
In any case, thanks again, and Bootcamp - here I come!
:)
Alenka

To be honest, I didn't have a clue either when I first started here, I took the certification course 3 times in a row, before everything sunk a bit, you know, that's a kind of funny, I deleted something by accident and I had to fetch my daughter to find the trash bin for me, that's about how a computer nitwit I was when I began here;)

:))) Brilliant! Thanks for sharing!
I am doing my best to learn as fast as I can, but often have to spend lots of time on very complicated stuff. Which in the end always turns out to be very simple stuff! :)))
Best :)

I fully agree with Heidi, Alenka.
It's quite normal to reach a point where you are questioning the future of your blog, and I think it would be good for you to get a break from it. So, by all means, do go ahead with the bootcamp but don't fully abandon your twins blog. Just leave it for a while and concentrate on the bootcamp and I'm sure, from time to time you may feel like working a bit on it again. But even if you don't - it may generate a little bit of income after a while just sitting there. This has happened to several WA members.

Dear Sammy
Thanks so much for your advice and putting it all into perspective! I wish I had asked this question a while ago; I would have saved some valuable.
In any case, I think to do the Bootcamp (now that I'm here at the WA) would be the sensible thing. Also, I've learned so so much in the past three months; I'll put it to good use on my new website.
Thanks again!
Alenka

Definitely a good plan, Alenka.

Thank you! Very glad you agree :)

Hi Alenka,
It's not so easy finding a niche
that you're fond about! I sat down
and wrote several ideas that I wanted
to write and be helpful to my Readers.
Sometimes, it takes some more thought

God Bless.
James

Dear James
Thank you for your excellent advice - yes I need to write that list and have a good long think about the direction where I'd like to go with my affiliate future.
Best,
Alenka

Apparently it’s a regular thing from what I’ve read Alenka, lots of people go down one track and then feel they need to change and do.

My only advice is don’t scrap your twins website, leave it sit, again many stories of,people who’s sites still make money when they are not working it. And you never know one day you might want to go back to it.

Dear Heidi
Thanks so much for the excellent advice! I thought I might be the only person who is changing their mind about their website. It took me a good few weeks to summon up the courage to ask for some advice from the more experienced members of the WA.
Glad I did!
Thanks again!
Alenka
