December 2018 Update
Hello dear WA Friends and a very Happy and Healthy New Year to you all!!
As promised, here is my monthly update on the month of December.
Be warned, I have managed to fail every single of my goals this month, so it's not going to be the most upbeat post.
What Happened?
Some of you may know, I am an opera singer. In the last couple of years I haven't been singing as much as I would have liked, for various reasons.
Having devoted twenty-five years of my life almost exclusively to singing, to say I miss it, would be an understatement.
I got offered to sing in three concerts this December, and even though I knew this was going to interfere with working on my blog, I couldn't say no. They were lovely concerts, I enjoyed singing Handel, Mozart, Strauss....and all the Christmas Carols so much!
I know it was the right choice because I feel happy and all afresh to get back working on my Bootcamp site.
Also, my children had their various Christmas parties to go to, and their first performance in the Nativity Play (they just stood there, doing not one single thing they rehearsed! lol). That also took up a lot of my free time...(when in doubt, just blame the kids ;) )
I did however do some work on my site:
- Published five posts - the goal was 30...uuups
- Created a ten-day email course for my email list sign-ups
- Created FB Page
- Set-up business Pinterest Account
- Read daily on all things affiliate
- Bought and learned how to use WP Tasty Pins plug-in
- Made a decision which autoresponder I'm going to get (this will happen next week)
You Site Works for You While You Sleep!
I know you have read this many times before, but it's so true, it needs repeating at every opportunity!
I had twelve more starter referrals during December.
None has upgraded as yet, but I'm super happy all the same.
My site has very little traffic for now, so that I get any referrals is amazing, and a sign that some of my posts convert really well (even though I say it so myself) ;)
Google Page One
I now have three of my articles ranking on Google Page One.
One in position 1.
The other, in position 2.
I am very happy about this - Kyle, Jay, and Jerry's training on SEO and how to rank your posts really, truly works! Thank you guys!
What's in Store for January?
Here are my goals for January:
Write and publish a post on my blog every day
Set up the autoresponder
Make friends with Pinterest and Tailwind
(Pinterest and Tailwind drive me crazy. I find it overwhelming and waaay too noisy. Still, with my first blog I had over 80.000 impressions in less than two months, so I better remember how I managed to do that pronto...)
Work on my FB page every day (not sure what is the best thing to do, but will learn about it as I go along)
Finnish my Bootcamp course

Have you set up your January blog goals?
If not, you definitely should. Even if you 'fail' them, (like I did mine in December) it will give you the clarity of what you need to do to achieve them the next time round.

Hi Alenka, well it may be a warning sign to not meet your goals but it is a success sign to admit it and move on to a new set of goals.

By looking at your rankings you are doing wonderful.
I'm glad you had some singing gigs. We have to take time to do what we enjoy. Besides WA that is ;)

For someone who has failed to meet their goals, you appear to have achieved a humongous amount. Don't be too hard on yourself and revel in what you have done. Now....for next month!

Wow, you have accomplished a lot - even if it perhaps wasn’t all on your december goal list that happened/succeeded. As long as you have a plan and goals, you will obviously do very good anyway. And I believe it is important to take the chance when you get it, in this case the chance to sing, and allow yourself to enjoy how good that made you feel! Wishing you all the best for January!
Thank you for your good wishes. Yes, i did do a lot, but not what I set out as my goals for in early November. MMO niche is so competitive, I need to write many posts to get good results so, that is what I'm going to going to do in January :).
