Work from home and massive ciber attack
Hello everyone!
This morning, when I was looking for a quote to share with you, I noticed my antivirus had something to tell me.
I thought the Massive ciberattack was over, but now I see it still can happens anytime.
My antivirus tells me I don't need to worry as it will cover me from it.
My question for you is this, as I work from home doing some research for a university, I need to surf on the internet for a few hours every day, looking for some information and I have to open lots of PDF files.
Is my computer safe?
Is my computer fully covered?
Is it safer to tell my boss about this and wait a few days to keep going with my research job?
I would love to hear what do you think about this?
Thanks for your thoughts and help.
Alejandra.

I would mention it to your boss at the University. The department or the university's IT people will be able to best advise you since you are not only one doing that type of work.

Definitely let your boss know so that he is aware of your situation Alejandra. Also make sure that you antivirus program is always updated with the latest virus definitions.

Thanks Jerome, I already sent my boss an email, but he said he hasn't heard anything from the other people who does similar jobs like me.
As you say, I will check on my antivirus program.
