Wealthy Affiliate Yesterday And This morning.
Well, yesterday was a day that took me just like this... WHAT?
My rank went from 173 to 483!
Then I thought, well, this has happened a few times here on Wealthy Affiliate, it will get back to normal soon.
Hmmm!
Last night I got a message and an e-mail almost at the same time about Carson post about "how to rank at WA", so that means something has changed!!!
So, my real rank is now 483!!!
Hmmm, I need to think about something!
What can I do?, what can I do? hmmm, what can I do?
If there is something I have learned in life, it's not to panic!
relax, breath and think...
Why would I be worried about the "NEW" rank here at WA, just keep at it, help other members, write good content and keep going.
My rank will improve soon!
Find what is important in my life (and on yours too)
Why would I be worried by this rank numbers here at WA if I see my website is improving.
I came here to WA to learn how to make and run an online business to make a full income.
That is my main GOAL.
I'm getting more clicks from my website to WA, so that means I'm writing to my "target client" and they are interested to know more about WA = I will get more referrals soon!
I'm getting more clicks everyday from my websites to Amazon, this means I'm working to write content for my "target client" and they read me and they are interested on the reviews I write.
I'm sure I will be sharing soon great news about my online business.
But, if your goal is to do better on WA ranking, just keep at it, and I'm sure you'll be doing great soon!
For the moment my focus is on my online business, I will keep at it!

While I saw some ranks go lower than I thought they would, there were some who were moved into Ambassador status that I really agree should be there! There were also a few removed that I also agree with, lol. I think this new algorithm will help prevent so much "gaming" the system for rank.
That said, I dropped a good bit too and it was a little hard to see it happen. But Alejandra, you are right, our sites are first priority and we should help others where we can.

I've been focusing on my website and trying to engage here on WA when possible. I sincerely appreciated Carson's email yesterday. I had a bit of "sticker shock" when I saw my new ranking but that's okay. It just showed me I am not being helpful enough in this community...a community that I love.
Awww....don't say you're not being "helpful enough" Sue. If you think you can lend a hand, do so, but don't let an algorithm dictate how much you've contributed to the community.
No matter my rank, I know I've added value to the community. I don't say that out of arrogance, but base that on feedback I've received from others, often to my surprise. There always room for improvement, so just keep striving to give your best.

I don't even really pay attention to the number. I stay active, I am not going to change anything. My priority of course is my sites. But I love also being active here in the community. So I would say just keep active here and on your sites and at the end of the day everything will work out just fine.
My WA rank is sliding down a bit more slowly but that's OK. I'm working on my own website building my own dream.
I would be a liar, when I told you, that a fall down of 300 would hurt me. I am thankful my rank just went down by 1. This really felt like a local earthquake at the premises.
You put what happened yesterday Loes, like it was... an earthquake! for a moment I was just like the kids photos I put on this blog!
Hoping and waiting for WA to go back to normal... then, OMG! that wouldn't happens!
So today I'm ok, and ready to keep working on my websites and here at WA too.

Mine went down by about 2200, but I really don't care. My focus is on getting my websites to where they need to be.
My focus is there too, I try to write at least 5 blogs a week on different websites and forums, that's outside WA. I have the average time of 10 hours a day to work on my computer, I am very lucky:)

What is in a name is a lot more important, the name you are making for yourself with your website on the internet.

But it's good to know everything can change from one moment to the next one.
If WA changes, and it always change for good! and this means I need to keep at it, let's talk about the internet business!
Every website-business owner is working hard, and every moment they push my website back and back. so I need to keep at it!!

Yes, and that's what's really important!
I'm always telling members that they should never worry about their WA rank, it's merely a reflection of their activity and engagement within the community here, it's not a benchmark of "success" in any shape or form and it certainly won't earn them a dime.
It's also true that some of the most financially successful Members here don't rank in the WA league table at all, they're far too busy earning to engage on the level required to maintain rank.
I'm afraid some members get hopelessly distracted by following, socialising, blogging and "competitive" ranking within WA to the detriment of their training and then end up complaining they're not getting anywhere business-wise.
I have lost count over the years of the number of high ranking members and — before yesterday's rerank — even Ambassadors who after a year or two at WA start to whine that they are still not earning.
It often only takes a quick glance at their profiles to realise they've ended up with hundreds — if not thousands! — of pieces of content here at WA, in order to rank highly on the WA "leaderboard", but hardly any by comparison on their own websites, where it would might actually have done them some good and produced an income.
I'd strongly recommend everyone at WA follows your lead, and focuses on creating their own successful businesses first, before even thinking about their WA rank. :)

Just between us, I had my first $100,000 month last year after four years of incredibly hard work, and my WA rank had nothing to do with it!! ;)
