Niche Site First Anniversary, what I've learned working on a website for one year.

Hello Everyone!

In 4 more days our niche site will be one year old, and it's time to celebrate and it's time also to take a look to what I've learned working on this site.

There Was A Time...

When a woman got tired of getting poor results with her bogging, one day a year ago decided to start it all over again. She took a moment to think what to do.

• Keep working the same way and keep getting those same poor results or
• Start a new website and learn how to do it.

I can see myself, one year ago thinking about this, 5 minutes later, I went to talk to my husband and I told him about these two possibilities, he told me whether I choose one or the other I could do it.

I went back to my computer and I started a new website.

This is how our new site was born that day!

What Niche Do You Want To Work On?

I picked a niche I knew something (or I thought I did) and I bought that domain here at Wealthy Affiliate.

When Working On A New Website, Start Where You Are

So I started to work on this website, but after learning about affiliate marketing here at Wealthy Affiliate, I took my time to set up this website with the correct categories.

I took a notebook and took the time to design my new website, so I could take a look anytime I wanted to do things the old way.

I started to write a few posts, and it was when talking with my husband, he told me he would help me to write a few reviews.

• This is how my website became "Our" website - A team work website.

He will work on writing reviews and I started to be focused on learning how to do SEO, keywords and Social Media.

Work Hard As There's No Tomorrow

We started to work both on this website day after day, we started to have work meetings and talk about what to do on the website and making a plan for the next posts.

Facing Some Problems

When you work on a website, whether you're a newbie or the more experienced website builder, it might be some problems or some "how do I should do this?" questions.

Nothing better than being part of this great community, I started to re-read some posts and trainings, so I could work right this time.

One Year Later

If you have been following me for sometime, you might have noticed I have not been here as much as I used to be, reading your blogs and writing comments on your blogs or writing new blogs, the reason was simple: I was working more on my website.

I could see, when you focus on working the right way on a new website, it takes a lot of time!

My apologies for not being much help these past months here.

My New Site Became My Own Life Project.

I got a couple of job offers during these past months, and I had a talk to my husband about it,

- Should I get one part time job or not?

He told me, I better keep working on our website full time, so I agree on that.

One year later, I'm glad I decided to open a new website and work on it full time for the last 12 months. I will tell you now the good points on it.

• Our website is well designed
• We know our niche
• We know more about the products our target client needs
• We know more about the problems our target client faces
• I have learned a lot about keywords and SEO
• Our site has a few blog posts ranking on page one
• I think our site got its first snippet on Google!
• Our site is getting a few sales from Amazon (and it will get more, I'm sure of it!)
• We have learned a lot about our niche!

Start Small And Grow Big!

I still remember when we started to work on this new website, we started to learn more about our niche and about whom were those big sites on our niche!

It looked like they were so big and always ranking on first page on Google, our site looked so small and with no chances at all.

Don't Be Afraid, You Can Do It

Follow Wealthy Affiliate training, Jay's webinars, and read blogs from other members here at WA, and soon your site is starting to grow as big as the big sites!

One day you will notice your traffic starts to grow and you will check which post is ranking good and you will see your baby (site) starting to show up on page one!

What's Next?

• We are so happy to see our website growing good and start ranking on first pages.
• We will keep working on it
• We believe on our website will be doing better and better!

We want to thank Kyle and Carson for creating Wealthy Affiliate, it has helped us to make our dream a reality, and we know it will get better!

We also want to thank you all, being part of this great community, you are amazing!

This week we will start working on our website for the second year and we will work hard knowing that soon we will see our website standing right next to the big sites on our niche on first page most of the time!
