Dahlias are Mexico national flower and they are original from Mexico.
Who would get the idea to grow dahlias in South-western Quebec?
Can you think about how many people had told this man not to do that!
A Mexican flower can't grow in Quebec!!
Mexican weather is so warm!!
Mexican weather is so different from weather in Quebec, you better don't do that!
Well, sometimes it's better to keep going, don't listen what other people tell you and time will tell you "YOU MADE IT"
We (my husband and I) visited this farm this morning, and I must tell you, what a great visit it was!
You can find all the varieties of Dahlias you can ever think on!, small, medium and big, I could even tell you huge flowers.
And each one of them so beautiful!! ... I couldn't pick one for my favorite!
All colors, white, yellow, pink, red, violet, all shapes, single petals and flowers with so many petals on them!!
The owner has set a nice business here!
You can visit the farm and have a walk to see all the flowers for free!!
You can cut 5 flowers to make a bouquet and you can pay 2.50 Canadian dollars!
You can cut as many flowers you want to for just 5 Canadian dollars!
The owner will kindly explain to you how to cut the flowers! a great lesson, so we learnt how cut the flowers and don't hurt the plant.
If the owner is not around, all you can do it's to read all the instruction on a paper, get a pair of scissor and you can visit the farm.
A small business can be a good business too!
The owner of this farm had thought of everything about his business.
He has a website where you can visit, yes from wherever you live on this planet and if you want to grow some dahlias on your garden next year, you can order any bulbs you want to from his website!
And this flower farm has also Social Media, you can visit its Facebook Page.
How to grow dahlias?
Well, I tell you this business man knows how to do business.
If you don't know how to grow dahlias in your garden, he will explain and teach you how to, on a course he has, but you need to come to Quebec to take part of it
Will I visit this farm to get another bouquet? Sure I will!

Hello Michel, it's true many insects and birds migrate every year between Canada and Mexico, some are good and beautiful and some are not.
As I talk to some people here who owns farms, they have had some real serious problems with some insects from USA and Mexico.
This year it was an almost 100 % for the blueberries harvest!
3 years in a row with poor picking. :(

I would have loved to come with you and visit that farm as I love flowers and in my beginning years had quite a lot of Dahlias myself. They are really great flowers. In your post, I see photos of flowers with such special colors, did not know these colors exist. I think you did not see my last monthly post yet which came some days ago. There Marion gives some good advice which quite some people have followed.

Yes it is, but only during winter, summers are warm and a little bit hot some days, who could ever think about growing a warm weather flowers and now this man is running a nice business!
