How To Make More Affiliate Sales with a small or a young website.

Hi everyone,

Have you wondered why your website is not making any money or just one or two sales and then it stopped making anymore new sales?

I came to Wealthy Affiliate to learn how to make money with my website and in other words I wanted to learn how to build up an online business, and I guess your goal might be the same.

As a new member of this great community, you might work hard creating new content for your new website, and in a few cases you might have in your hands a successful website that will start making money for you in a few months.

For many members, including myself, this will not happen, you might need to work week after week without seeing any result at all. That was my story.

My tip:

Don't Quit, Follow Wealthy Affiliate Training Once, Twice and Even For the Thrid Time!

Don't quilt, WA training works, and you might miss one step or maybe two and it doesn't matter how many posts you have already in your website, sometimes you might have missed one step or two and this is the reason you don't see any good result so far. That was my case and today I'm happy to see I am getting some good results.

Any New Sale Counts, No Matter If It Is Small or a Big One!

When a website starts getting sales, your numbers might be small, by this it means you will be making cents, yes only cents.

First, don't compare to other websites that you read here at WA who are making 3, 4, 5 and even 6 figures every month, they also began making a few cents one day, every website was small.

What is important here, when your website starts to make money is that you are on the right path when you write new content for your website:

  • You have learned how to write the best titles for your website and your readers want to read your articles
  • You have learned more about who is your client and how you can help them.
  • You know how to get the best keywords to write new content for your website
  • You have learned how to write new content with the best SEO (watch Jay's webinars, you have everything you need there!)
  • You have learned how to share your content on Social Media (I only use Pinterest)

How Long Does It Take A Website To Start Making Money?

It will depend on how you write your new content for it and how much you know about your target client. There's no rule here.

My website is only one year old, and my husband and I have been working on it every week!

This past month we have been seeing how this website is starting to get more organic searches and the site is getting more sales, small sales, but the important part here is to see our hard work is starting to pay off!

I must add, our website is a narrow niche and this is not a very popular niche so we don't get a thousand of visits every day, but this is the proof that even a small niche can make money for you!

The best thing we can do is keep working on it and know more about our readers and help them to do better on our niche.

This website will do better as it gets more content and as we keep helping our readers.

How is your website doing?

Are you working on just one site at a time?

Thanks so much for reading my blog today, if you like it, you know what to do: Like it, comment and share!

Keep at it, and take care

Alejandra.

Great post on being consistent and following the training here at WA. My sites all suffer from a lack of attention, just not enough time in the day and night for me but I am making more effort. I've found that it is best (especially for us inexperienced ones) that it is best to concentrate on just one site at a time.

Thanks for this encouragement....I noticed some points that needed to be addressed regarding my sites. I am following SEO practice as best as I can, but have not been very active on Pinterest where most of my traffic came from for a whole year.

So the traffic tailed off this August. I am ramping marketing more by going on one other social media site. And renewing the passion of the Pinterest traffic.

Also, I stopped writing content because when I didn't see results from the past traffic marketing I did, I backtracked to see where I was going wrong.

It seems that traffic was being sent to other sites through re-pinning other pins. Then I was new to Pinterest and getting pin-happy re-pinning. So I did some homework and archived a few non-relevant boards and tidying up my other pins to be more organised.

Pinterest traffic is on the rise again due to this.

Now to be more consistent with writing content!

Beautiful post, Alejandra. My stats look similar, only a few dollars on my website that is 8 months old. But it shows the system works. We just have to get more people see our articles and that will bring more sales.
We are still lucky to have at least some sales in this early stage.

Thank you for sharing! It is true what you said. All websites are different when it comes to earning. For some it goes quickly and for others it takrs more time. And it goes up and down. I think looking at what is working and do more of that is a good strategy.

Hi,
Thanks for the post, it’s heartening to know that if you keep working away that good will follow!
I’m just a month in now and trying maintain the two posts a week regime. Hoping that eventually I as learn more, the writing becomes better (and easier, or is that too much to ask?).

Just concentrating on one site just now but hoping that at some point in the future it becomes more than a hobby!

Fingers crossed for you.

Robin
