I would be tempted to go wide rather than deep and build an authority site over time

Thanks Kat. Interesting to read your view. As you suggest, we're playing the long game.

You could go either way. There are lots of "financial independence" blogs, but you are right, they are quite broad. Peer to Peer lending could definitely be a niche site worth building, but I would prepare yourself to write a lot about the topic! If you know a lot about the subject, then it could be worth pursuing.

Alan,

The more specific you can be is probably best. Be sure to research the amount of people looking for something like that and go from there. You want to have enough of a market and make it profitable. Being more to the point is better than generalizing though. Good luck and keep to the grindstone.

Chris

Thanks Chris. I've another question on niche size to post in just a moment.... Good to know that tighter is better!

Listen to Nathaniell and I believe that is what Kyle recommends.

Thanks @nathaniell and @alex4406. Really helpful.

My recommendation is always to start with the regular course in WA to gain some experience in affiliate marketing before you start to promote WA. This way you can show people your work, and have some experience in niches outside of "make money online". Then you can say that WA worked for you, or at least is a service that you can recommend because of XYZ personal experience you had in the community.

Alan, I would say, Do what you are comfortable with. If you have an idea for a website about a product or service you like, go for it. It always helps to pick something you are really interested in. Good Luck.

Hi everyone. I'm just writing the first posts for my new WA Affiliate site. Can I check whether it's OK for me to keep adding new posts for comment in this thread?
https://my.we

You can use it as often as you like, but there is also the new feature that's just been rolled out here. Did you see Kyles blog about it? And this is the link to the new feedback section https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/website-feedback

Hey Kathy. Awesome. Can't believe I missed this earlier today. Will get going right away :-)

As often as you want for the first 7 days

Hi William, thanks for your input here. Really appreciated.

Hi everyone. Can I check if you get free email handling with the starter membership? I'd like to know if a new user, after buying a domain name can send email as name@theirdomain.c

I really wouldn't have a clue if they even have email ,i'll do a search and let you know!

Just want to confirm that you have to purchase your own domain in order to be able to setup a domain specific email address. Does this mean that you cannot setup an email account using the free siterubix.com domain if I dont want to purchase a domain at the moment.

Yes, you have to own your own domain to have a email address.

Patrick

There's no free email with a starter account because they are on the Siterubix domain.

Thanks Nathaniell, that's now clear.

I believe you have to br pemium and hand your Own domain

Thanks Patrick. Very helpful.

I never feel that posts and pages that I write for my website are perfect when I hit the 'publish' button. Is it OK to make small, regular updates to my posts/pages, or should I sa

When I don't know what else to do I view my website and find things to edit. Better ways to say something or little things I spot, like spelling and grammar. Haven't broken anything yet. The internet seems to still be up. Lol

Cheers. I'll build some time into my schedule to regularly edit my site. After lunch sounds about right for doing these kind of edits...

I do it too!
I often find a better way to say something, or make improvements and additions.
It's a good thing to do! ... just don't change your permalink.

Got it re the permalink. I guess that I should be creating a new article if I want to change the keyword.

Edits are fine, and show fresh content on your site. Google likes fresh content, and edits give you an opportunity re-share you content on social media for traffic boosts. Edit as often as you like.

Complete overhauls may affect the rank of a page, but if your page isn't ranking, big edits can't hurt either.

Thanks Nathaniell. That's really helpful.

Google likes updates. I go back over mine regularly to make sure all the links are working and also to add internal links to newer posts. On reviews, I check the item is still available and that the price is the same.

Some of my earlier posts were very short and grammatically bad. As I've learned more I've improved them.

So your answer is yes, it's always good to improve your content. :)

Hey Kathy, thanks for your input. I've got a lot of tidying up to do!

Yes, you'll find that as you go along. Older posts can always do with a spruce up! On the plus side, Google likes to see sites being updated. :)

It's probably not a good idea to make changes after it's published unless you see a glaring mistake. Once the page is indexed, making changes could signal that it is duplicate content thus lowering your SEO rank.

Hey Charlie. I appreciate your input. As you say, duplicate content is bad for SEO and should be avoided.

Its best to edit as often as you need to, I find the same thing happening to me when I re-read some of my posts. It also keep your site active as you tend to check your other pages and posts for errors or glitches.

Thanks for your input Clyde. It's going to be a fine balancing act between maintaining existing content and producing new posts.

I find two effect sources I use to get hot topics that are relevant to your site having rich content, one is google alert, and the other is discussion forums on your niche. These two help me to get content topics that would encourage readers to relate and respond, it also helps with google rankings because google alert is actually top google topics that are currently trending from the keywords of your niche.

Cool, I was doing that class just yesterday, so good timing!
