Should I be updating to Wordpress 4.7.1 and/or One SEO Pack 2.3.11.1?
Yes, most updates are security fixes so they are very important. Updates Always back up your website before doing updates 30 Second Daily Backups Full Backup With a Plugin
Marion, once again many thanks for your helpful and practical advice - it is much appreciated.
Yes its something I have done Alan, its easy to do and only takes a few minutes. Just be careful in case you have had to add any extra code in like the Goggle confirmation meta tag into the header code.
Alan, I fully agree with 'Boothe' it's always excellent advice to stay current when it comes to any software. There's so many 'fixes' and 'updates' that are derived from user experiences built into the next version of most software. So, Yes I believe you should first 'Back-Up' your database for your website, then secondly perform the update.
All the best,

Although my first website, www.walkingforpleasurehealthandfitness.com, went 'live' on 29th November 2016, it has still not been indexed by Google. Could someone please explain
mine is the same Alan and at the same sort or stage as yours, early days and needing more pages and content. Like me its time to start adding some pics, you must have plenty from those walks. Will you create a separate blog for each one with pics and maps? think that is what I would do.
George, many thanks for taking an interest in my problem and for your thoughtful suggestions. I have established that my site HAS been indexed. Google, apparently, does not always notify this development.
Now I get it, did you see how Boomer did that search? site:......
Its not what you know but how you search!!! found mine to, same way, not indexed on the site.
Hi Alan, I really don't know why it hasn't been index as of yet. I would say continue to add content to your site. The more the better.
Jerome

Paul, thank you for taking an interest in my problem. I have established that my site HAS been indexed. Google, apparently, does not always not always notify this development.
I agree with the others about adding content. I had the same issue; one of my sites took about 2 weeks to get indexed. I added more content and it finally got indexed.

Hi, Alan, first, have you added your site and verified it in Google Search Console and set up a sitemap? The reason I ask is, when I click on the link I get the message "It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching can help."
It's only when I click on the menu title in the navigation bar that your content appears, and which, I believe, could do with some TLC. If I can help you in any way to improve your site you can PM me if you wish. Best wishes.

You have to create at least 2500 words of content to be ranked in the top position for Google. You don't really have much content on your site. Now start writing and eventually Google will index your site.

I have registered for Google Adwords for my blog.Google has rejected because of lack of Text.My blog is showing photos only. I have to add Text content also.

You don't seem to have a lot of content. Google will only rank content. if the site is all but empty google will pretty much ignore you. Keep building out content and google will take note!

Excellent but remember You still need to keep on adding content a indexed site is useless until it ranks. And next to useless unless it on Page 1.
Indexing is a nice little Milestone though, well done.

The Heading of my site is to the left and the three pages are to the right. How do I 'centralise' these please?
Hi Alan, I looked at your site and this is what I see http://www.ebizsupport.com/images/alan1.jpg. It looks like the theme is loaded ok but not sure if you loaded any pages or posts or widgets on the right side. I uploaded the theme on my test site and this it what it look like: http://www.ebizsupport.com/images/alan.jpg
the post and pages are ok as well as the right column widgets.
I uploaded the free theme not the pro paid theme. You have two pages up, the About Me and Privacy Policy and they look ok. I would try doing a simple widget for the right column and a test post.
Thanks
Joe
Have you gone through the setup instructions? (See below)
I looked at the theme, and You will have to go through the setup instructions to get the same look.
Setup instructions:

This is the main theme page.
http://themegrill.com/themes/himalayas/
There is a free and paid version too.
Thank you, Joyce, for taking the interest to look into my problem. I have established that the Theme has been installed correctly and it has been suggested that I now do a simple widget for the right column and a test post.
I was wondering what yo meant by the theme isn't showing up. Do you have images on your site. Most people look at the theme demo when choosing a theme and assume the pictures from the demo carryover but technically images have copyrights like music does so you never get the images from the demo. When I first started I did a trial at a photo stock company in order to get images to use for my site, if you do this make sure you keep the license they provide with the image.
Thank you for taking the time to reply. The Theme is installed but is not showing up on my site. I AM STUCK!
I checked your site and it says the theme is in use at the bottom.
I was wondering if before you installed the theme. Did you hit preview? I have a test site, so I added the theme to it and my test site looks like your site so I don't understand the issue.
That might be a theme issue. You might find that if you add more menu items, they start filling up to the left. In other words, your theme might right-justify the menu items.
Thanks - The other problem I have is that my theme - Hymalayas - is not showing up. Are these two problems linked?
Steve, would you mind taking a look here please?

I'd be very grateful for any advice you may have.

Your home page might be set to static instead of blog roll. Try this: Static Pages and Blog Rolls

When I 'publish' my website, my Theme doesn't show - what have I done wrong, please?
Maybe there's a theme update waiting to be installed in wordpress? I have the twenty-14 theme and mine had to be updated.

Absolutely. Always update everything in Wordpress or anything that asks you to. Upgrading is the one to be selective with because there's usually a cost for that.
Many thanks for the advice - it is much appreciated.
