Hi - with YouTube, a channel can't be monetized until it has 500 subscribers and 3000 watch hours.
Hello Allan! You just need to apply to Google Adsense. It’s free. You’re only required to have a Gmail account and your website to have about 20 30 published posts!

I don't know about YouTube however you can use the Ad Inserter plugin, as you do not want to edit your theme files directly as you will lose your changes when the theme updates or if you change your theme. How To Use The Ad Inserter Plugin

The only advice I can add to what has already been shared with you here is to make sure you keep a close watch on your website loading time, once you have added your Adsense code to your website.
Many of us have experienced our sites slowing the loading time so badly as to remove Adsense from our website.

Yeah, Pretty links are very useful as Google think it is an internal link. So you don't have too many pages pointing away from your site and Google likes to see more internal links than external.
Yes, you are right about that. I use Pretty Links, not bit-ly but I’ve seen youtubers use it. I think using Pretty Links URL in YouTube is better for affiliate links. Im still learning how to use it. The training needs to be updated.
Some platforms don't like you sharing raw affiliate links; however, when you can, it would be more feasible to include them in a post and share that position instead.
With bit.ly, you can track your links and read data which is a plus.
Pretty recognizable that the link has been shortened.
Useful for really long URLs
Some people are wary of clicking on shortened URLs because they can't see where the link will take them. This can lead to suspicion of spam or phishing attempts.
If bit.ly goes down or experiences issues, your links may become inaccessible. Or you are bit.ly deciding to turn off your connections.
Some affiliate programs are against cloaking, like Amazon, and, for example, you need to look up programs' terms and conditions.

You have the one login; you cannot add them as a user as you do with a wordpress site.

You click the button save settings, then wait 24 hours to see if it works.
