Marketing My Property Development Success Online Course

I have a meeting today with a client who is my first customer for my online course called Property Development Success. It was 2 years ago when i first formulated this course from my knowledge at that time and I uploaded the first version onto Amazon s3 for storage.

I never imagined that 2 years later I would have re-written every module and only just be making a first sale.

I have certainly learned a lot about the property market during that time and now consider that I am a more expert property investor than I was beforehand.

The property market itself has undergone significant changes during that period and is currently in turmoil owing to the effects of the economic recession here in the UK.

I will also re-visit my own online course having watched a recent Thrive Themes video by Shane, the founder of Thrive (who is himself an expert at writing and marketing online courses) about how best to prepare your online course for marketing.

I have also learned a lot about online marketing and about the need to establish whether there is a market place for the course that you produce, before you produce it.

So certainly I went about things the wrong way round, I produced a course using my own knowledge and then went out to try to find customers for that course.

Knowing what i know now, what i should have done is to carry out research into what sort of courses are in demand, and then produced a course that is currently in demand.

The thing is though, that courses that may be in demand might be ones that I know little about, so it would have presented an additional challenge of how to find someone who knows about and can write the course for me:-)

Another factor that i became aware of from listening to Shane the Owner of Thrive Themes who quoted his experience of how to price an online course. His thinking after much trial and error and experience of marketing online courses was that the ideal price point should be around $199.

I will re-visit Shane´s video and ensure that i take account of all the gems of wisdom that he dropped having been writing and marketing online courses and digital products for years. There is so much to learn about online marketing.

The other thing that i need to work on is marketing of many other ebooks and ecourses to which I purchased the rights to as a system, called PRIMO 3 or ecoursecapital, as a way of outsourcing.

I imagined that i was saving myself time and money by pre-purchasing ebooks and ecourses that were already prepared, but it comes back to the same issue - is what you have for sale actually in demand by people? And then the other question about, who are your customers and where your customers are located?

Once I work out a strategy for marketing my own Property Development Success course I will re-visit all the other ebooks and ecourses that i have and try to categorise them and carry out campaigns in niches where I think, after extensive keyword research, that there may be demand.

One thing I am clear about is the need to use video as a communication medium, since i have had some success with my YouTube channels Alpus Group and Alpus Property Development. I must take the opportunity to build my brand when marketing all my courses.

It looks like that should keep me busy for the first quarter of 2023 at least.

Have a great weekend ahead everyone!

Cheers

Alan

Alan, awesome first sale.
Well done and congratulations
How were you marketing and promoting your course?

Hi Simone, i was marketing it on my website and promoted it on Youtube and Facebook. I will do some more promotion on webinars in the next week or two, thanks for your interest, cheers Alan.

That's brilliant, Alan
All organic marketing
Not Instagram?

Sounds very interesting. Best wishes to you with all of it.

Susan

I think that you might be well on your way, Alan! Best success to you in this endeavor!

Jeff

Sounds very interesting Alan, all the best and keep up posted on how you get on my friend!

Hmmm. Interesting one for me Alan. I have an overseas property business (15 - 16 years now) and 99% of my customers come from my websites or word of mouth. It can still be done even in these times. Out of the houses (we buy them cheap - send the builders in - flip 'em and sell cheap) there is one left out of around 145 listed on my site - this is a small percentage of what we have sold over the years.

Find the right niche and you can nail it. I'll follow your progress with great interest.

Best,
Paul

Hi Paul, Thank you very much for sharing a little about your story. I have a niche that i am following at the moment which is to find old hotels or bed and breakfast establishments and refurbish them as Aparthotels, fully automated. I will check out your websites as we have a lot in common, Happy Easter, Best Alan

Good luck with that niche Alan - sounds very interesting.

Have a great Easter too ;-)

Paul
