Facebook Ads Learning Phase - Automatic Optimizing For Higher Conversions
I've just started running some Facebook Ads again and I noticed a new feature in my Ads Manager call "Learning"
I'm not sure if anyone else has seen this as I think it's fairly new but basically what it means is that Facebook is testing different placements of my advert to find which is the most effective based on the optimization I have chosen.
So for example:
I've chosen to optimize my ads for link clicks and left the placement on automatic for now until I can see where it's actually converting the best which is what I've always done in the past.
What I just found out is that Facebook is doing this for me automatically in the background!
What Facebook does in the learning phase is test different placements at different hours of the day until it works out which combination gets me the most clicks on my links.
According to Facebook, after around 50 link clicks I should find that my adverts will settle down and only be placed where they convert the best without me having to do any tweaking myself.
I should then see a constant amount of clicks daily.
In the past I have always run an ad for a few days and then tweaked it to what I thought would convert better but didn't realize that by doing that I was actually putting my adverts back to day one of the learning phase again and Facebook was starting my optimization from day one again meaning that I would never really get the maximum amount of link clicks out of my campaigns!
So if you're new to Facebook Ads and like me you've been changing things in your advert every other day to try to increase conversions stop!
Let Facebook's learning phase do the work for you.
Let your advert run for at least a couple of weeks without touching it and you should see your conversions increase automatically as FB learns what is working best for you.
I'm going to run my latest advert for a whole month without touching it and will let you know how it goes in another post at the end of June
Have a great week!
