Success this morning, I got indexed by Google!

I have had 3 days of virtually no internet. Here in China it is still Spring Festival celebration and the children are still on holiday. So that means virtually no internet because they children are all playing games inside the Great Internet Wall of China and many sites are blocked outside of the Great Internet Wall of China. Even some VPNs are blocked too. So sometimes I could got to a WA page but things were so slow that I could not even LIKE something never mind add a comment. But I kept on trying and last night I got a 30 minute window of opportunity and managed to send out 1 personal message and add few comments to great work by others. I could not get to my website. So I decided to write my first big internet page offline and add it when I could. If I tried to do any uploads or downloads I got 1Kb/s!

This morning I woke up to find Google had indexed me. A great feeling. Also, the internet was back for, so far 1.5 hours. But even now it slowing down rapidly. I managed to add my first big page to my website. hikingandbackpacking.org all about "how to choose a backpack". 3,000 words it took me to add all the criteria. Maybe it is too long. Today I will focus on taking some pictures of my backpacks to add to the page whenever I can.

But all of the above is progress and the lesson is that persistence pays off. I have to keep on going no matter what little obstacles are in front of me.
