Hello Everyone,

Today I want to share some of my learning from the book "Thou Shall Prosper" written by Rabbi Daniel Lapin.

The principles presented in the books are really powerful. These principles are divided in this book as 10-Commandments of wealth. Let's have a look, how we (WAers) are aligned with these commandments:

10-Commandments of Wealth

  1. Believe in the dignity and morality of the business.
Book emphasizes a lot on having a business. The business helps people grow. One business helps many other people.
  2. Extend the network of your connectedness to many people.
Networks and connections with like-minded people are an absolute must. Greater is our network of connectedness, the closer we are to wealth and success.
  3. Get to know yourself
A lot is been written on "Knowing Thyself" in various books. Bible speaks about it multiple times. But very few of us are able to live with this gift.
  4. Do not pursue perfection.
My website should look perfect. My Blogs must be perfect. I always have this kind of thought, because of this, I end up procrastinating even simple stuff. It's a lesson for me. I will see how I can correct my course.
  5. Lead consistently and constantly.
Consistency and Persistence are keys to success. Many successful entrepreneurs speak about it. Those who do it are successful. Many here in WA practice it.
  6. Constantly change the changeable, while steadfastly clinging to the unchangeable.
There are certain elements in our life which we can change. For example, after deciding to become a successful blogger, one can devote 2-3 hrs to write out of their busy schedule. Changing the changeable helps us in creating our life.
  7. Learn to foretell the future.
Here comes the role of knowledge and understanding. Book of Proverbs speaks about it. Peace is a foundation for knowledge and the capability of foretelling the future.
  8. Know your money
Understanding money is one of the key elements if you are willing to acquire wealth in your life. A lot has been described in this book, it makes this book a must-read.
  9. Act Rich. Give away 10% of your after-tax income.
Tithing. If someone is earning less, it is difficult to give away 10% but a habit of giving away a certain amount each month but within us a wealthy habit.
  10. Never retire
Real entrepreneurs don't do work for themselves but for enrichment for others. Retirement is treated negatively in this book and it is understandable. Entrepreneurs love what they do, so there is no scope for retirement.

Conclusion

I hope you liked this super-short summary of a giant book. We people at WA are on the entrepreneurial path, so I believe these principles are important for us all.

Have you read this book? What is your biggest takeaway?

Have a great weekend :)

Love this Akshay, sounds like a business book based on Biblical principles! Right down my street! Thanks for sharing! :)

Lot of food for thought here, thanks so much! This sounds very much like a book I'd be interested in reading, I'll have to check it out.

Thanks again, Shannon

Hey thanks Shannon🙌😊
It's a long book, but a worth read.

I looked it up on Amazon hoping to find a Kindle edition and was in luck! I have Kindle Unlimited and had hoped it was within the available books. It wasn't unfortunately, but even so it's not terribly expensive considering it's a 350 page book. Thanks again for the heads up!

It certainly sounds like we at WA are tied into many of these principles, Akshay.

Yes Jenni. Very true👍
