The 2020 Super Affiliate Challenge Has Opened My Eyes Wide

PROLOGUE

I have been a member of Wealthy Affiliate since 2015. I have 8 affiliates, none of whom stayed longer than 2 months. I have since earned $85 in affiliate commission which I'm not in any hurry to cash. I have also created a blog which is also struggling with traffic and making very little sales, with AWeber.

I have nobody to blame but myself, precisely, my inconsistency.

WHAT HAD BROUGHT ME TO WA?

I have been following some posts here and saw that my sory was not so different from many of those who joined.

In effect, I was trying to escape my 9-5 in 2013 and searched online for a solution. Blogging or affiliate marketing were not what I was looking for. I had even never heard of those words. But I was wowed because it had 3 elements:

It proposed blogging while I had been trained as a writer. I had even published in newspapers, magazines and anthologies.

It offered affiliate marketing which could be done with little or no capital outlay which was the type of business model I was looking for.

It sought to teach people to do things. I was, and still, am a teacher.

I ordered the training material. In a week I had my website created on the free blogger platform.

I was told to fill my website with content and in about 5 I would see the money coming in.

Of course, the training here at WA made me know that was too simplistic.

I abandoned my dream.

But once bitten, they say, twice shy.

I came back 2 years later, in August 2015, to look for a better way to succeed online. It was then I fell on a WA review.

It wowed me and I joined as a starter member. At the end of a week, I had upgraded to premium and started doing the training material seriously.

We are asked to start with the Certification course but I was in a hurry and thought the done-for-you Bootcamp course would serve me quicker.

I abandoned the certification on just 3 lessons of Phase 1.

I was on holidays and could work everyday for hours on end. But when school re-opened, I had little time to devote to my passion. For weeks, and even months on end, I would not even come on the WA dashboard. In fact, I would only come when the rare referral signed up to my affiliate link.

TWO CONSTRAINTS BROKE MY BACK

I live in a country where the internet connection was very slow back in 2015. Watching a video on YouTube was even a problem. A 20-minute video could take me an hour or more to watcg it to the end.

So when I came to the lesson on creating videos, I "held up my hands" and "left the ring".

But the dream refused to quit me and I would come on WA from time to time.

One day, Kyle sent me a message.

I think that must be a year ago or so. He said I showed promise (me?) because I was getting referrals and he was going to watch my progress. That served as a booster for me to come bck on the platform again. But with money going and none coming in, my enthusiasm was low. Not too low, because I continued to renew my yearly membership.

THE MAGIC I HAD BEEN PRAYING FOR

Then a month ago, Kyle sent me a PM saying he wanted to make me s Super Affiliate!

wow, I had been praying for magic to happen in my life and this was it.

I applied and continued to pray.

Then the acceptance letter came and I knew I was not going to procrastinate anymore, I could no longer hold back my success.

MY RESOLUTION

At the moment I'm busy with the first month's tasks which seem relatively straightforward. But whatver comes after, I'm decided to write a BIG SUCCESS STORY here this year. There will be no going back, whatever happens.
