Is Your Site Listed In Google Search Console?
Is your site listed in Google Search Console (henceforth to be called GSC)? Then you’re covered.
But if it’s not, see what you may be missing.
It was while looking for ways to improve my site that I fell on the suggestion to list my site in GSC.
The reason given in the post was that issues crop up on your sites that you don’t know about but which GSC would send you updates about to work on to improve the site.
And everybody knows if it is coming from Google then it carries its weight in gold.
And it didn’t take long for Google to draw my attention on an issue affecting my site.
Search Console found 3 issues of type Coverage. Those concern soft 404, “noindex” and crawl issue URLS. See screenshot below for more details:
When I fixed the coverage issues, they sent me a new message the same day that they were checking the soft 404 issues affecting 40 pages! See screenshot below for more details:
And when that got done, I received a message to that effect. See screenshot below for more details:
When I asked for Site Feedback here at WA (all in a bid to improve my site) people complained about the size of my texts on mobile devices. So I fixed the font issue and Google Search Console acknowledged it. See screenshot below for more details:
Sometimes GSC contacts you about new features or general updates. (See screenshots “Google console 19 April” for more details on Domain Property new features).
I guess you see why you must be listed in GSC?

Thank you Akoli for this education.
I got one of those messages on one of my websites https://imird.com. I tried to resolve the non index issue, unfortunately, I didn't know how to fix it. After fiddling with the site on WordPress I lost hope.
Can you please tell me how to fix it.

Which issue did you get? There are so many of them. The simplest way is to Google for help. If that doesn't work, then come back to us. Yes, I also had difficulty making fixes, but finally you get around it.
I asked you to go there because there is even a forum there on such matters where you find answers or ask questions, just like here.
