Is This Happening to Anybody? - SAC Exhilaration is wearing off

These are the phases of SAC I went through.

1. Application Phase Prayed to be accepted

When I did apply for the 2019/2020, I prayed hard to be accepted.

2. Acceptance letter

Kyle's message that I had been accepted into the program made me float on silver clouds for days on end.

3. SAC Training Material 1

Waiting for the first material is real anxious. I was itching so much to start.

Then I experienced a burst of creativity in which I planned a whole lot of content.

4. SAC 2

This was my most productive period as I posted 1 piece a day for some 2 weeks and then two a day for some 3 weeks.

5. SAC 3

By this time the excitement has worn off.

This has nothing to do with the program. But I think human nature. When we need somebody so bad, we pine for it. And when we get it, we seem exhilarated. But soon we don't jump up and down anymore. Like BB King sang: The thrill is gone.

Is this happening to you too? And how are you handling it?

I think it happens to most of us, Akoli.
That is why I love quotes.
It helps lift my spirit up. Here is one:

"Life is like a book.
Some chapters are sad,
some are happy and
some are exciting,
but if you never turn the page,
you will never know
what the next chapter
has in store for you."

Thanks for the sharing and all the best.

Wow! What a wonderful quote!

I'm going to copy it and put it somewhere I can see it all the time.

I'm sure you'll find the strength to go beyond that. The success is the result of several failures so continues to advance and I am sure that the excitement of the beginning will return. It's a complicated passage for you, we all have it and we'll have it again.

I send you all my positive thoughts!
Ingrid

Hi Ingrid,
Thank you, I have to find the strength to go on. I can't afford another choice. It's easy not to exercise patience, no matter how that has cost you in the past. But wisdom dictates that this must stop!

Its all about trial and error.. Failer is always one step closer to success.. Find your mystakes and do better..You have to go through adversity and perseverance.. Never give up.. Be persistent..?

The image below explains is so well. Thanks for your comments.

Yes. That is so True.! Good Luck.!!

Thank you.

Great summary, step by step, or phase by phase.

You've also qualified it or attributed it, for the most part to human nature.

I caution that some negative comments may follow your post.

Of course the choice to do so, or to refrain from doing so is up to each one of us.

I for one do not see it but as an honest call for a collective and constructive reflection to find the motivation to move forward.

Blessings!

Negative comments, you say? I'm really surprised since I didn't criticize anybody or anything. I was talking about my feeling and asked if anybody was feeling the same.

Remember I said "This has nothing to do with the program. But I think human nature. When we need somebody so bad, we pine for it. And when we get it, we seem exhilarated. But soon we don't jump up and down anymore. Like BB King sang: The thrill is gone."

I wonder why anybody should be hurt by that great truth. If the thrill never went away, humanity will never go forward.

Akoli,

You are right and I am with you on that, I hope you saw that in my comment above.

I have been saying ad nauseaum both in comments and in my posts here that we need to address the issue of those who potentially burn out [or in some cases of some can no longer afford the premium monthly/yearly WA].

I was either dismissed, ignored or laughed at, but all of that still left unaddressed the underlying issue, and all they had to offer were "positive" posts to offer renewed hope to those who were, are or will be way beyond where such posts will have any meaning or effect. As you've said it so well it is wearing off just like pain medication does and then the reality of pain returns.

In light of that, I have taken the approach of being "the tree that falls in the forest which one hears".

It is very easy to post encouraging and positive posts, however, in the grand analysis of it, does it help those who can no longer be helped by inspirational quotes? If that was the measure of a doctor's skill, we would fall short of many a standard. No real doctor treats a serious medical issue with aspirin and a smiley emoji sticker on a "get well soon" card.

And so, therefore the beat just goes on..

Speaking of that, I found this verse from Above & Beyond's song "Miracle" to be on point:

"Don't they know that there's something going on?
What they're harming with their indecision
But who will be left standing when I'm gone?
There'll be nothing left but a vision

It's too easy to turn a blind eye to the light
It's too easy to bow your head and pray
There are some times when you should try to find your voice
This is one voice that you must find today"

Returning to my fallen tree position now.

Blessings!

I've had this image for years. It explains what happens to people who get quickly discouraged.

BOOM!

I thought that the digging tool came with instructions which "recommended" that when we are in the hole we should better stop digging.

Blessings!

PS & SPOILER ALERT: One size doesn't fit all, so maybe different sizes or options need to be considered. But I digress...

You have described the "challenge" very well. It is normal. However, their is a difference between those that are successful and those that quit.

The people that are successful make themselves continue working on their websites even when the thrill is gone. They refuse to give up.

Then when they start getting sales and the sales start increasing, they regain their enthusiasm.

This process is normal when working on any type of new business. I have even experienced it with my brick and mortar retail shop.

I agree totally with you that when the thrill is gone, that's when we know those who will be successful and those that will quit.

No matter what happens I'll continue working on my website. My piece was not to give up but to find the strength to go on.

It's all because I know the traffic will come one day, then the conversions and the sales.

Thanks for commenting.

This is true for me. I've put in so much work for very little if any return, so the luster is definitely gone for me.

I've also not seen any change in traffic for all my "great" efforts. But we've been made to understand that it takes time and we should exercise patience.

Akoli,

Reach out to me if you care to do so.

Blessings!
