How many people are getting referrals?
When I first set up my website here of course I had few content but I was getting referrals from time to time.
Then my business took a dip for failure of my bank to assure payments by Visa credit card. And it was at the worst moment in my online journey.
My NameCheap domain hosting was suspended, my AWeber membership expired, my WA membership went into suspension mode, and worst, my website fell off the blogosphere.
I had the money but I couldn't pay these fees. That made me mad!
And by the time some friends in America accepted that I send them money by Western Union so that they could pay for me, my traffic had disappeared. And when you lose your traffic, it's almost impossible to get it back.
Over a year since settiling all those problems, I have added almost 100 articles but my traffic isn't even a quarter of what it had been.
Maybe this explains why I haven't got a single referral in the past year or even a little more.
But I know people are getting referrals becuae I welcome many of them myself.
Who are and who are not getting any referrals? Can you explain why?

Hi you may also get referrals through word of mouth or offline efforts. You also hv to join social media groups in your niche. Sometimes the admin will allow visiting each other’s blogs. You can get referrals that way too.
Yes, word-of-mouth is great. Unfortunately I live in Togo, a French-speaking country and promoting anything in English here is a problem. Which ofthemethods you proposed have been effective in getting you referrals?
Oh man, I'm sorry you had to experience all of that. I would be frustrated too...The good part is everything is settled and fixed.
I can only speak for myself, and I do get referrals.
At first, I was getting referrals every day maybe 5 to 8 but, that was when my traffic was at 1500 visitors per day.
By the way, to get that traffic, I was writing literally every day and suddenly one of my scam reviews seemed to go like viral...
Well, my traffic has dropped drastically since then.
I'm not sure what happened and it's something that I have been trying to push back up. I'm not sure if it's becuase, it was a viral post for the moment or what..
I'm still trying to test and see what could have caused this...
Now my traffic stats are about 150 to 400 visitors per day and I get 1 to 5 referrals per day. Some days I get none though.
And the only reason, I think I get referrals are because, I have an exit-intent popup which it seems like no matter what review my visitors land on, my exit-intent popup is what grabs their intention.
Out of all those referrals, only 8 upgraded, and a few set up their accounts which earned me $1.00. The rest did absolutely nothing!
I've always heard it's a numbers game though when it comes to referrals.
And from my experience, WA is tougher to convert than any of my other offers. So, WA takes a little longer to get things going.
Are you in the MMO niche? Have you tried writing about MLMs?

Oh, it must hurt to come down from 1500 visitors to 150 to 400. I think it's due to Google's recent update. Kyle had mentioned it in a recent post and asked people to check if they had been affected.
No, I think I'm affected by the saying that MLM is pyramide scheme.Now that you're saying it I'm going to try it.

Once I got the traffic up to 1k visitors my offers started converting which was exciting. Now that the traffic went down, I see conversions but, not like it was before.
You're probably right it may be due to to the update.
I've heard that if you've been affected by that theGoogle update. Then traffic can still correct itself but, it will take time to get back in order.

I just wrote about three and they are already getting traffic. Not much but, at least it could help with your traffic too. Those three MLMs I wrote about are also new, just came out this year 2019.

I share your pain of traffic loss but I'm happy that the traffic can still correct itself.

I don't have much to show, as my Make Money Online site is still quite new and so am I but I do want to follow this post to see what others have to say.

What bloggers and affiliate marketers struggle with most is always traffic. I'll suggest you go to YouTube and type in how to get traffic and you'd be served. I love Neil Patel who has short awesome videos on the topic. Also Brian Dean of backlink.

It does produce traffic and sales so worth taking the time to build it up.
