Do you have to add all posts or only some to your navigation menu?

I have just had my blog customized to suit my new direction. Then I was faced with a dilemma:

Do I have to add all my posts to the various sub-menus of my navigational menu?

I prayed that the answer to my search will be no. This is because I dreaded the work involved in adding over 600 posts to my sub-menus.

Fortunately for me the answer I got was no. You only have to add the posts that you would like a visitor to your site to read.

The question then might be: how do they see the other posts?

There are a few ways to do this, but I want to touch on internal linking.

Internal linking helps Search engine crawlers to understand your site structure. It also enables your site visitors to find related content. As they go from one content to the other, they are spending more time on your website. Google likes this.

So, internal linking helps your visitors find related posts to those you link to your top navigational sub-menus.

What has been your experience in this regard?

Hi Akoli, I use categories for the different types of post which I have, which can be done in the WordPress dashboard. I also use tags as well, again added within the WordPress dashboard, Alan.
