So I've got few articles that have been index by google. But when I looked at SERP, it's not on the first page which is... expected. So my questions are:

1. Is it possib

Hey,

In truth, a one day old website can rank number one in the SERPs for a particular phrase.

Age, DR, DA, etc. is a factor in ranking articles.

It all depends on your keyword research.

Basically, using a tool like Jaaxy is only the start of the research process, and you definitely need to dig deeper.

The vast majority of the time you'll find a keyword in Jaaxy, the stats look good, so you write the article around that keyword phrase.

Big Mistake.

The stats In any keyword tool mean very little without checking who you're competing against on the first page on Google.

If you find a keyword that seems good according to Jaaxy, but the first page of Google has articles written by authority sites like (depending on your niche) :

Wikipedia
Healthline
MayoClinic
Psychology.com
TinyBuddha
Neil Patel
Backlinko
CNN
Forbes

The list could go on for ever.

But if these sites are ranked on page one of Google for a "good keyword according to Jaaxy" you're not going to be able to compete against them as a new website.

Most articles you write on a new website take around 8-9 months to reach their true ranking and traffic potential.

Just to confuse matters, some articles you write will rank and bring traffic in from day one, whereas other articles will do absolutely nothing, appear almost dead, no rankings, not a single visitor for 2-3 years and then BAM it suddenly ranks and produces an avalanche of traffic.

However, in the main the 8-9 month mark will reveal the true potential of an article on a new site (less tan 12-18 months old).

Unfortunately, most people don't dig deep enough with keyword research.

The simply rely on what a keyword tool tells them fully.

A keyword tool can only work on historical data, so it can only tell what has already been searched for, or what seems popular.

Considering there are MILLIONS of brand new searches every day, you're losing out by solely relying on Jaaxy or any other keyword tool.

You have to check the keywords you find in Google to see who's ranking.

Use the alphabet soup technique to dig even deeper on keywords that Jaaxy has suggested.

Check the "People Also Ask" section midpage in the SERPs and the "Related Searches" at the bottom of the page.

Your aim is to find phrases or questions that have little to no authority sites on page one of Google.

Additionally, do the articles written actually address and answer the query?

I typically always look to find at leat 2-3 Q&A sites, forums, or social media sites on page one of Google, e. g. Quora, Reddit, Facebook, Pinterest, niche-related or general forums.

If you find at least two of these ranking for a particular phrase, you've struck gold, write the article immediately.

That is how rank articles with NO backlinks.

Find topics to write about that don't have authority sites on page one of Google.

Look out for Q&A sites, forums, social media sites on page one.

Find UNDERSERVED topics, i. e. Other articles haven't really covered the subject inuch detail or at all.

If you do that you'll never, ever, ever need to build a backlink (if your content is good, people will naturally link to you over time anyway ).

If you find something that has 10 non-authority sites on page one, you have a good chance of ranking immediately (depending on your article quality).

WA steers away from backlinks, something I do agree with. You can get HUGE traffic numbers without backlinks, as long as your keyword research is fantastic (unfortunately this is the stage where most people fail. You can write the best article ever, but if your keyword research is poor, you'll never get any rankings, traffic, income).

If you want to learn about backlinks I actually think that Brian Dean from Backlinko slightly edges out Neil Patel in terms of fantastic information.

I would also suggest going to Reddit and reading the SEO, JustStart and Backlink sub-reddits. Awesome information.

Hope that helps?

Fantastic reply, a mini lesson in keywords right here, this should be a blog in its own thank you

Hi David,

Very kind of you to say.

I have actually written about this previously.

A few members have even messaged me to say that they followed through on what they learned and for the first time they are seeing articles actually ranking on page one, and more importantly, receiving traffic.

There's a lot to take in, and the two-parts are quite lengthy, but I basically give away my "secrets", Hahaha.

Enjoy (Plus always read the comments of any blog post you read, there's usually a few diamonds in there too) Partha

Partha this post should be a mandatory read. I think you are so right. Many of us just use Jaxxy without going on to the further steps you articulate above. This process is so much more thorough. Thank you for your always keen insight and I made special note of the recommendations. Outside of the WA posts what's the other best area to catch your insights?

Hey Hugh,

Thanks for your kind words.

To be honest, topic research and what to write about is where probably 90+% of people in online marketing get it wrong (I think Roope created a blog post yesterday stating that up to 96% of people fail at this business).

But it's actually the very, very, very first stage where most people fail.

I think most people here know that I tend to do things "my own way", but if it works, then it works.

I guess most people would be shocked to know that I haven't used Jaaxy or any other keyword tool for research in 2021, and yet pretty much all my written articles are ranking and BRINGING IN TRAFFIC (plus, I'm not talking a few hits here and there, but thouands and thousands of visitors a month).

Additionally, I can shock people even further and say that I've stopped using an SEO plugin as well.

To be honest, as I've mentioned a keyword tool can only take you so far.

Plus, if you think about it, because keyword tools are based on historical data (and most are wildly inaccurate with their stats) you will only be finding "keywords" that everyone else has already written about.

So, immediately you have competition.

I typically dig as deep as possible into a subject, and try to find topics that are underserved, perhaps only a handful of people have written about before.

You can use Google autosuggest, Google's People Also Ask, and Google's Related Searches, to really drill down into a topic.

As I say, if the first page of Google is littered with Q&A sites, forums, social media sites, this itself tells me that people are discussing this topic, but not many people (websites) have actualy written about it, JACKPOT.

I'm not bothered about "how many visitors a keyword gets".

If I find a query on forums, Q&A sites, that's enough for me. It tells me there are people in the world discussing and wanting to know more about the topic.

So, whereas most people are using Jaaxy to write articles around keywords that "apparently" provide 200 searches a month. Their article is not ranking on page one (position 1,2 and 3 are all I really care about), so they're not getting any traffic.

The vast majority of my articles will show 0 search results in Jaaxy.

However, I immediately rank because no-one else is writing about it.

The first month I may only get 5-10 visitors to that article.

Month 2 the article starts ranking for more keywords, it get's about 100 visitors a month.

And this increase in traffic continues month-on-month as my article gets picked up for more-and-more keywords.

I did a check on just ONE article for Phil yesterday.

The ONE article in May received over 5,000 visitors, it ranked position 1,2,3 on Google for over 20 keywords and posistions 4-10 for about another 15 keywords.

NONE of those keywords provide any traffic according to Jaaxy.

I of course have other articles where I have used my own method and received no traffic.

It cuts both ways.

Being an entrepreneur is about thinking outside the box, sometimes.trying something and failing, but getting back up, dusting yourself down, and going again.

Eventually, you'll find what works for YOU and what doesn't.

Hahaha, unfortunately Hugh my insights are limited to WA now.

I have been a member of Warrior Forum, DigitalPoint, etc. over the last decade, but they certainly aren't as good as they were 10-15 years ago.

I'm also a member of a couple of other programs that are probably in line with my way of thinking, but they are competitiors to WA.

So, out of respect to Kyle & Carson I would never openly mention or promote them here, on the platform or via Private Message.

That would be disrespectful of me.

Plus, I have never, ever created a Make Money Online website/blog.

So, for now, only here is where you'll find me.

Partha

Thanks for the in-depth explanations bro. Will try it sooner.
