Good Things May Come to Those Who Wait

One of my favorite quotes is often attributed to Abraham Lincoln. Although there is little evidence that he actually said it, having read several biographies of the man it does indeed sound like a philosophy he might have lived by. It goes something like this:

“Good things may come to those who wait, but only what’s left by those who hustle.”

If you have been following my blog, you will know the wild journey I have been on lately. (And if you haven’t – are you nuts? Everything I write is pure gold, so get with the cool kids and follow me!) lol

Seriously, it has been a hell of a roller-coaster ride. And a scary one at that. We’re talking family of five, sleeping in a tent in the woods, sharing blankets with three dogs and one very pissed off cat kind of scary. Not good.

But what were my options?

I could freak out and go into pure panic mode… and wait for things to work out.

I could get depressed and melt into my pillow… and wait for things to work out.

OR…

I could hustle my ass off and MAKE things happen. And that is exactly what I did.

We are now set to leave and drive 3000 miles. We have a temporary place to stay until we can get into a house. And I already have had several successful interviews for excellent jobs – with one – should I get it – that may even potentially allow plenty of time to write and work on my sites while at the office.

How’s that for hustle? :-)

Franklin D. Roosevelt once said, "The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today."

Doubt and fear are a natural part of who we are; it’s what we do. But the key to success is to never let your doubts and fears dictate your actions. Successful people acknowledge the situation and take action anyway. Successful people keep moving forward regardless of the circumstances.

If something is important enough, successful people will find a way. Unsuccessful will find an excuse.

And this not only applies to moving cross-country without a safety net. It applies to your business as well.

Wealthy Affiliate is wonderful. The training is second to none. Kyle and Carson are great. And the community is fantastic. But at the end of the day, it is all just support. You still have to do the work because it is still your business. You have to take 100% accountability for your own success. It’s up to you to hustle.

So, here is the million-dollar question (maybe even literally) …

Are you making it happen or are you making excuses?

Thank you. I'm truly humbled by your words.

Both. More and more of the former, and less and less of the latter. I'm excited about your journey. If you get anywhere near Atlanta, let me know. I'll try and hook up with you.

Thank you. Unfortunately, we are heading the complete opposite direction and moving to the west coast. But I plan on throwing up some pics after we get there :-)

Great post. So true. Love it

Thank you.

Well after that good read about hustling I am a hustler! following your blog was enjoyable.
Peace💗

Hahaha... thanks. And keep hustling :-)

I’d take a hustle on any day. Most of us like to make excuses, human nature, ya know. Ive made plenty of excuses. Did I learn from it? Yes, as I got older, I regretted my bad attitude. The not caring attitude was bad and I made excuses because I didnt think it will have an impact on my future. Glad you mentioned this because we need to read (or hear if your ears works, mine dont) this post and work hard. Moving is hard and finding work it hard. Owning your own business is hard also. You get what you put in.

Thank you. I could not agree more. :-)
