Ambassador Again?

Who’s got two thumbs and is an Ambassador again? Dis Guy!!! lol

Seriously, I was pleasantly surprised to wake up this morning to that message for WA.

As you may know, I was an Ambassador before, but lost my position when my family and I moved across country a few months ago. Apparently there is no WiFi available in the middle of the desert… who knew?

Anyway, as honored as I am, I also wanted to take a minute to share with the new members — and even a few of the WA veterans — what being an Ambassador actually means...

Being an Ambassador does NOT mean you get some kind of special benefit. There are no “prizes” (at least not yet) and there is nothing in it materially for you.

Being an Ambassador does NOT mean you are smarter or even more successful than other WA members. I am friends with loads of WA members who are incredibly successful and making loads of money who rank in the thousands.

Being an Ambassador does NOT mean you actually work harder than everyone else. Okay, technically I suppose that is not entirely true, but I’ll go over that in an minute. What I mean is it’s not something you should actively be pursuing. Is it nice when it happens? Of course. But it’s not something that should be on your to-do list.

So, if all of that is true, what exactly is an Ambassador and, more importantly, what is the point?

What Being An Ambassador REALLY Means

Ambassador is a title, simple as that. All the Ambassador title means is that said member participates in the community and helps others as often as he or she can... which is generally a LOT.

In fact, theoretically, depending on the amount of time spent, one can even become an Ambassador without ever making a dime, or even building an actual website. Crazy, right?

I’m not saying that is the case with any of our current Ambassadors, myself included. They all work very hard and are wonderful people. I’m just pointing out that technically it would be possible. So, what lesson can we take from that?

STOP putting us on a pedestal!

We’re entrepreneurs just like you. And we’re also human beings (well, some of us are; I’m still convinced a few moved here from Jupiter at some point, but I digress), which means we make mistakes just like you.

In other words, we’re nothing special. We just help when we can, and when we can't, we try to point you in the direction of someone who can.

I suppose the point is that if your deepest desire is to become an Ambassador, please do it with the full knowledge that there’s nothing in it other than the deep personal satisfaction you get from helping others succeed. I absolutely LOVE coaching and helping fellow members, and the real reward has been the friendships I have developed as a result.

The Ambassador title is nice and all, but it’s not why I do this. Indeed, the title is merely a byproduct of my personality and who I am as a person. And I would continue to help everyone I possibly could whether my rank was 25 or 2,000,025. I simply have a passion for sharing.

And if that describes you as well, then I can promise that you, too, will be an Ambassador one day.

Take care.

P.S. Oh, and did I mention I’m an Ambassador again? Just sayin’ ;-)

I celebrate and rejoice with you! CONGRATULATIONS! and congratulation the last time you were also an ambassador.

Let me see. Ambassador, a title that is an honor to keep because all ambassadors are hardworking, helpful, creating value and working long hours on their computers, etc. You can never be one if you don't do all these 'joyful work". It is within you and you can never fake being one because soon you will lose it and it will fade away. If you love the joyful work then you are on your way... Right?

Exactly, my friend. It's all from the heart. Thank you for your kind words.

Hi AJ and congrats on your return to the top 25.
All the best and may it continue, you are an important part of this community.
We share the same views that we are here to build a profitable online business but also to help and encourage others that they too can achieve great things here.
Have a great week
Darren & Nicola :)

Thank you. You have a great week as well :-)

Life has a way of interrupting things. Welcome back.

Hahaha... yes it does. Thanks :-)

Many congratulations! It is well deserved!

Thank you.

Congratulations AJ. You are definitely a worthy recipient of this title. Jim

Thank you, sir. As are you :-)

AJ, welcome back! This is where you belong and to be honest, I didn't realize you weren't before today. I always enjoy your post and you are a great source of information. You're a great Ambassador!
Congratulations!

Hahaha... yeah, that move back in June got me. I think I was around 23 or so the day we left. 3000 miles later I was somewhere around 80. Took me a bit to get back on track. lol

Thanks.

Glad you're back!

Very informative and educating piece of good stuff.

Ok. Congratulations!

Though it does not add dollars to your pocket, I respect you for the achievement. Why?
Just because, you deserve it!

Do keep on helping, some day, more reward will come.

Best of luck to you.

Thank you for your kind words.

Congratulations AJ. Well deserved, I look forward to your posts as I know I will learn something, each and every time.

Thanks. That means a lot coming from you since I, too, enjoy and learn from everything you write :-)

You're welcome and thank you in return.

Congrats AJ. Great post for newbies and oldies (and us guys and gals in between). I accidentally hit Ambassador Saturday. Worked on my websites all day Sunday and with a little laptop problem was back at 26.
So I was technically an Ambassador for about 24 hours.
No big deal. You sound like me. We just love helping others and that is enough of a reward for me. I have a couple of good blogs to post so will probably yo-yo in and out of the Top 25 forever.

Making a living, making a difference.

Hahaha... that's exactly what happened my first go around. I was right on the line bouncing back and forth. I'd be 23 one day, 26 the next, 24, 27, 22... and so on. It was actually kind of funny to watch :-)

"Al Gore"ythm pretty much sums up what is used by Google and other platforms to rank us. lol

Mark

Hahahaha... I love it :-)

Brilliant news. Congratulations and clearly well deserved!

Thank you.
