Why Meditation?

I am what most people would call a workaholic. There are probably tons of others like myself, why because we were so eager to come into this world that we know its time to get things done. If you suffer from working too much you may discover that your rest time gets compromised and then your energy levels change and sometimes it impacts others or the surrounding people. College is where I was in battle with time it was always in a race with my life such as work, school, gym, drinks and friends. I felt as if life was a race and I never was living in the moment.

I now work as general manager for a large fitness company and not only that I am also a very independent individual but I sometimes I a purposeful fun job is what's keeps me going. Living a healthy life style is super important to me as I battled with my own fitness needs and overcame them which is why I am passionate about my job sometimes work past my scheduled time.

It came to my attention several years ago that I had some trouble with sleep or simply relaxing. I got myself into countless thoughts, thoughts overwhelming my state of being, in fact sometimes I would be catch myself thinking negative thoughts or forecasting negative situations.

I realized that my emotions got the best of me and was preventing me my on living a fulfilled life with peace and harmony with what I was doing and where I was going. I suffered from Anxiety and was taking medication to help overcome it however I felt like a zombie inside. Yoga and a friend of mine introduced me to meditation. At first, I thought I couldn't do it as it seemed silly to just be still and in peace. In fact I told myself at first that perhaps this is something that "god" does not want me doing because as a christian I was taught that self idolization could be demonic.

Well as I was practicing yoga I physically challenged my thoughts which gave me self reflection and realization that I was responsible for taking the time to rest or release any negative energy. I understood how to control the breath and ease the mind from everyday thoughts, It was just a matter of time before I fell in love with it.

It also gave me sense of truthfulness and falseness or some would call it yang and yang. I had to let go of emotional blockages or energies that don't serve me anymore. After a while I found to have more clarity when it comes true intent, focus, and self-love.

Meditation has been the best medication for myself which teaches how to rest and replenish my energy and mind.

Now my goal is to create content that will promote self help but will not only help others see the powers within.

My plan in six months is to start monetizing on this stuff*

Hey Aj,

am no expert in meditation, but as a yoga teacher, I practice meditation quite often.
In my personal opinion, meditation is a great way to relax. Anxiety and Insomnia can be cured by Meditation.
for me, Meditation is just concentrating on your breaths, as you concentrate on your breaths, your mind becomes calm.
It need not be very complex, slowly your mind and body get attuned to the Meditative state, giving you deeper relaxation.
I am glad you are practicing and benefiting from it.

Regards,
Jivita.

Your absolutely right and thank you for your comment its all about the breath...
