I been getting people saying they can't leave a comment on my website. Can anyone help me?

Hi. If you go to your dashboard and into "pages." If you hover over a page, you will see a pop up menu that says quick edit. To enable comments check the box that says "Allow Comments."

Thanks for answering

There should be two check boxes underneath the text area where you write a post. If these are unchecked then it means people can't leave comments. To allow people to leave comments, simply check the boxes and update the post. This works for each individual post. Hope this helps :)

Thanks for answering

Have you fixed it?

I hope so will you try it and let me know?

hmmm... no I can't see a comment section... Have you checked the check boxes? If you can't see any check boxes labelled under Discussion below the post editor, at the top right of the edit post page you should see a box called Screen Options. Click on this and then check the Discussion box. Now you should be able to see the check boxes that I was talking about before.
If you have checked the boxes and it's still not working, it might be a plugin that's causing the problems. Or it could be the theme you are using but I'm not sure if themes affect anything...

This is actually not an issue you may be able to fix, the reason is because most Wordpress themes by default don't have author information or dates within your PAGES on your website...but they do within your posts.

Most people do get this error at some point within their Google Webmaster tools and although it looks bad, it won't really impact your rankings. As you build out your website you will be creating "posts" not pages after your initial framework is built out.

You are going to be just fine here Amanda, not anything to be overly concerned about. I have these same errors on some of my websites and they outrank some of the most popular news sites on the Internet all the time (1st page and 1st overall rankings).

Thank you Kyle, for I was really stressing out over this issue. I am trying to learn this stuff so I can provide more things for my family! Have a nice day!

Thanks Kyle! I was just getting ready to send you a message lol. Whew! That really had me worried. :)

Just found the same problem too today. I don't have to worry then.. Thanks Kyle

I have this on the end of my sitemap /index.php?xml_sitemap=params and no info yet on site after two days...? Can anyone help please...

I'm not sure about that! But do you have the Google Sitemap plugin? That's the one I have and it's really easy to get the sitemap info so you can add it to Google Analysts, if that's what you're after. Hope this helps!

Yes i have the plugin installed and this is what i got at the end of my url..

I am worried because most of the Affiliates I am Finding ask for my Social Security number to register!

That is a good question. I don't feel comfortable with that. We have always been told "Do not give out personal information" I do understand though for your employer and Government agencies.

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, Amazon asked for my TIN/Social Security number as part of the application process for their associate program. They need that if they are going to pay you. Since it's Amazon, I didn't hesitate to provide it.

I've worked as a contractor so I'm used to being asked to fill out I-9 forms and providing TIN/SS. But only if it's a reputable company!

Probably so...I don't remember doing it...but we agree they are reputable...LOL!

If an affiliate is asking for your SSN number to just sign up - find another affiliate.

The only time this is required is when you start earning commissions and not before..

That is pretty common actually. They will need to send you a W-9 for tax purposes.

Most merchants won't ask you for tax information/SSN until you actually start earning and then they need it. The earnings have to be reported.

If I try to signup and can't unless I give it out, I will move on. Good luck. Cheers.

Thank You for your answer. I would have no problem giving it if I made anything, but just to register worries me. That is why I did not register at some.

Places like Petsmart, GentleBirth Affiliate to start with.

Then, I would assume since they are well-known, go ahead. Let's see what other have to say. I knew I was solid going with Amazon and they didn't ask...LOL!

I have never heard of that...what types of sites are you selecting? LOL!?
