so I made a huge mistake.. I accidentally deleted all of the pictures on my blog for the most part. At the time that I was deleting them I thought it was a back up file holding

Oh no... it's a pain, but not the end of the world. I'd also recommend Site Support, please keep me posted and let me know if they were able to restore a backed-up version.

A couple things to keep in mind, you can install a back-up plugin like All-in-One WP Migration and make your own periodic back-ups. Also, instead of a thumbdrive, using Google Drive, One Drive or Dropbox is another option.

Yes, try site support. That is a big “oops”. moving forward, create a folder on your computer with all the files in it. Then you can backup your wordpress site too.

I do have a folder but the images are on two separate computers because I work on my website both at home and at work. Well we got new work computers and minority of my images were on my work computer so now all of my images are gone. I guess I should invest in a thumb drive..

Thumb drive is a great idea.

Hi, try site support. They may be able to find a back-up for you. They have helped me in the past.

To help speed up your website try plugins like Kraken for picture compression and lazy load.

Also, do a Google Page Speed test and it will let you know where improvements can be made.

Good luck.

I will try site support thank you so much for the suggestion! Fingers crossed it works because I can’t imagine losing all of that hard work!!

I think you will be fine. They should have it sorted for you.
All the best.

My website used to recieve

Hi Anna, do you have acquisition stats showing a break down of where you traffic was coming?

yes, it shows that it was coming from facebook, google chrome, and wealthy affiliate which I can only assume was me and then one other one that was some Chinese version of google I believe.

Typically what happens with social media traffic is you'll see an initial spike and then a drop off like your Oct 23rd and Oct 24th numbers show.

Search engine traffic looks more like the numbers you're seeing beginning around November 4th and 5th.

If I had to guess I'd say there's a possibility one or a few of your posts either made it to the first page of Google, or there is a trending and/or seasonal topic that one or more of your posts discusses that may have started getting attention in early November.

How have your traffic numbers been since Nov 13th?

And congrats on the traffic, that's an important milestone :-)

Hi
Just keep writing new content regularly,at list 3times a week.

Have you been writing new content regularly. I have been getting the impression that this is crucial to keep a steady flow of traffic.

Lily 😊

Yes! I write new content every two to three days and usually more often than that.

Well it can't be that. I look forward to seeing what the community comes up with. Terrific output.
Lily 😊

I am trying to make a thumbnail for a blog post about a toy story nursery theme and I have read and reread over an over again the copy rights compliance acts but I can not figu

Hi - in general, you cannot use trademarked/copyrighted images. This will include movies and their characters. The exception to this is "fair use" - ths means if you are using the image for educational purposes.

As a commercial site ie you have affiliate links and your blog posts are written to create income, then I don't believe you can use it.

I don't think its worth the risk. Earlier this week, one of the members here stated he had been fined $400 for using an unauthorised image.

thank you so much for your help I will try and figure out another option for my thumbnail!
