The Wit And Wisdom of Sir Alex Ferguson

(My apology on my recent posts in 2 parts that is actually for my own observation and understanding, it is nothing to do with the Title as I noticed not many understood the humor side of it and the large part of the purpose and reality in the content itself. It also a one-off observation on certain pattern and psychological part of things)

I would love to share around with a few good wit & wisdom of Sir Alex Ferguson and others that related to him.

On his "My Lucky (WALES) Woolly Hat" as his lucky charm (superstitious), given he is such a proud Scotsman. This is a mystery as he is routinely wore in training sessions before big matches. Famously spotted the night before CL Finals in 1999 and 2008.

Three Years Before His Retirement, he revealed he stole it from Ryan Giggs in 1996!

"I wear it at every european training session, and at european matches abroad, because I am superstitious and it brings me luck. People think Ryan Giggs given it to me. He didn't, i stole it from him! He is never going to get it back, because it is lucky for me. I have always worn it. I pinched it off him when we were in Turkey before a game against Fenerbahce. At that time, I just thought it would look better on me than him (Ryan Giggs)".

Some of his famous quotes:

"I can't believe it, I can't believe it. Football, Bloody Hell"

"Only Manchester United could have taken me away from what I had at Pittodrie"

"You can't be in control when you're not winning. It's only when you have success that you can get that control"

"My retirement doesn't mean the end of my life with the club. I'll be able to now enjoy watching them rather than suffer with them"

"Sometimes you have a noisy neighbour. You can't do anything about that. You just have to get on with your life, put your television on and turn it up a bit louder"

"It was particularly pleasing that our goal-scorers scored tonight"

"If Chelsea drop points, the cat's out in the open. And you know what cats are like - sometimes they don't come home"

"Failure will be always make us better"

"It is getting tickly now - squeaky-bum-time, I call it"

"Here he is, the boy who's given me all this grey hair!"

And last but not least I put it here all together, a quotes from his best signing, Eric Cantona:

"When The Seagulls Follow The Trawler, It's Because They Think Sardines Will Be Thrown Into The Sea"

"Leaving A Club (Football), Is Just Like Leaving A Women"

Great you listen to the kid in you.
Keep doing what makes you happy and don't let others opinion break you or stop you from doing what you love best. Remember we all have different opinions and each one of us is entitle to it.
Cheers

Terrific and well-drilled message from one of my respected networking! After two same of bad days in the office situation while not lacking the moral support on the other side, the baptism of fire, grit, and determination to be more immune to my "new home, platform, and working office", I saw myself first hands how different kind of inspirational and motivational speech of different person still exist and available when needed at crucial 11th hour.

Thanks and welcome my friend! :)

Ah, Man United...as a Yank, it is the only club which has captured my interest from across the Pond...I love them..

OMG, to get to know another Senior friend at WA following Man Utd just like me, the feeling is mutual. How good it was David Beckham in helping soccer level during his time with Galaxy and also dual role as MLS Ambassador, Sir?

VERY effective!

Great to hear that. The Goldenball is truly Living Professional and Legend these days.

Ryan Giggs can´t complain about Sir Alex stealing his hat because Ryan stole whatshisname´s wife

Cute quotes too

Argh, this one I can't complain but laugh myself out of my system. :)

Ermm, no wonder he say nothing when Sir Alex stole his woolly hat lol.

Thank you for sharing Sir Alex Ferguson's Wit and Wisdom Afqm. Learning something new here at WA isn't just found in the training!

No worries, my friend.Giving and getting something valuable at WA is one great life eperience.

*experience.

Some of them are actually pretty comical. Thank you for sharing them.
Jerome

Yeah, my brother, Jerome. I found the comical side of it never bore me reading and I need to combine it here to give the readers some amount of humour in it too.

Sir Alex is the firm man but this side of him where capture the adulation and admiration of the people seldom been told.

His mind games with Rafa Benitez some years ago plus with Rafa responses and question him direct to his face "what do you mean by that", is also end up comically. At England training camp, both sides of Man Utd and Liverpool players laughing endlessly. that is the tie Rafa and Liverpool lost their plots to secure the PL title.
Thanks, man.

Great post, Afqm!

Thanks :)

How can I stop writing when seeing everybody getting the best out of everybody here at WA. The kid inside me, keep on telling "don't fool yourself, man. so much more good, positive, and better contribution you can do at WA."

Thanks :)

This is an open statement from me for my recent blog post in 2 parts that is my try to put some humorous element to it. It happened to be backfired greatly when people can't get what I am trying to deliver, even though the truth and explanation attached inside the content.

I am greatly disappointed with the first impression insight of which I mean just reading, seeing, or viewing the post title without looking the material inside. Seems the thing "don't judge a book by its cover" a thing of the past.

Delivering something in humor but full of elaboration inside the content with the real message I wanted to share through the post is greatly overlooked.

But I pulled myself out in apology instead of the people that can't get the humor side of thing by not observing through the content itself.

Thanks for the "great lesson" you are giving me.

Since the thing was taken out of context and being labeled as a scheduled speaker I opt myself to only pursuing what mattered most and my first intention to be here at WA of developing and learning fo my own good.

All the best to all my friends out there.

My post stop here at 56. Long kiss goodbye on Las Vegas Aspiration.

:)
