Bookmarking for later - great quick info, thanks guys. Make it a great day out there!

My main website uses static pages because I sell a service, not a list of products. My other sites use a post layout as Rich describes. Posts are sortable by category and tags, which are generally unavailable on pages, and where I have products to sell I like to give them a post each..

I like that approach! Seems logical, thanks Paul!

I think most prefer to use posts for the majority of their content and group them using categories. In the case of "Reviews", if you use categories well, you can then group your reviews, ie. "Top 10", "Best For Newcomers", "Cheap Deals" and display these selections of posts either using a Category Widget (Appearance > Widgets) or by adding a Category item to a menu (Appearance > Menus). :) Rich.

@RICH, thanks much for your feedback! Makes sense!

Hey Everyone! Just created the first few pages of content and when I visit my page I noticed that links have been added to it for cretin Keywords. When I hover over them it pr

I am using WA hosting and the Omega theme, and I have not had any problems like this.

I just experienced the same thing. 1st I thought it was spam adsense adds. but when I hover or click on it, it 1st says ''google.g.addsdoubleclic.....'' and then the site that was advertised pops up. I was going to report these sites for piggy backing on my site, but if goole is doing it, what must I do? I do have not applied for adsense adds yet or am affiliated to any product yet... and strangely, the adds only appear on my page where I am using a plugin for a calender I got from wordpress I am using.

any thoughts on this?

Thanks cheers Erica

Erica,
You may want to read what Jay says below. He says to start with changing the theme. I do not have that issue so maybe it is the theme.
Hope that helps!
You can always email IT and give them the issue and page it is happening on and see what they suggest.
Thanks
Sheila

Change your theme and see if it stops.

Thanks Jay! I will give that a try.

Cool. Let me know if it works.

By the way could you tell me the name of that theme?

Hey Jay! The theme is "Twenty Twelve." I checked it this morning and the links were gone. Kyle mentioned that was a good thing because google was indexing the site, I just have never seen that before with any of my other sites in the past but it has been a while. They are gone now so I guess that is all that counts. It sort of looked like google was determining to be keywords? Thanks for your insight and help. I will put that changing themes tip in my back pocket! Have a good one and thanks again!

I know what you mean. Oddly, that stopped after I moved over to WA hosting.

It is on WA and I don't want to have to switch to someone else. I will try a few things and see what happens. Thanks for the help again choppydo!

Is it better to have the home page of your site as a blog roll or the getting started page as a home page?

Thanks!

I prefer the blog roll as it acts as an update to your "home" page whenever you create new content. Google like regularly updated content.
