The Blogging Struggle is REAL

I have been blogging for a full 2 years now. It feels like longer. I have taught myself A LOT! Its only been a year here at WA where I have learned even more. I have become a better writer and even finally figured out my true niche. But sometimes I wonder if its worth it all...

How many of you do this mostly because its possible income with a very flexible work life as the number one reason? Like even more than passion? Don't get me wrong. I'm passionate about what I write and provide for people on my blog. But I do it 90% so that I can help support my breadwinning husband and still be very avaliable for my kiddos. So far the juice hasn't been worth the squeeze.

I totally have not added any $$$ with this stuff. I know good things take time and I am tying to juggle another part time gig, parenting two kids and this blog. My mom told me yesterday when I was complaining about this feeling thankless, that I have to "decide if I would be sad if I stoped. Would I miss it?" I couldn't think of an answer right away...

I know I would miss the possibility of making money from my desk in my own home. Working whenI want. I would miss giving some of my awesome ideas to the world. I definently would be annoyed at myself for the hours, days, months and years of work that I just stopped... maybe that goal or break is coming. Sometimes I can see greatness in the distant future. Then I get distracted by needy kids that I can't ever escape (quarantine!!!). I think about other things I could be spending my time and efforts on (usually they don't have the money making possibilties though).

It's a struggle. I know I am not alone in it but I have really just been wondering...

Something that helps- requesting site comments. I don't do this nearly enough! I fee like some of the comments givedn to me are some made up BS. people just saying things so they cna get the points for their own comments. Some are truly heartfelt- either way it sure helps with the thanklessness when you get 6+ comments loving your article. Saying they will share it. Dude it's such a nice confidence inflator.

So if you are finding yourself in the "Is this really all worth it doldrums" like me. Go give out some comments and then put your best stuff up there for your fellow WA people. Sit back and enjoy some love.

This is a truly ramboling little post. Just some brain farts on a page. Trying to deciced, procrastionating work, hiding from my kids, and being thankful for this community who gets it. Yall are awesome. Happy Saturday and Happy Mothers Day Moms!!!

It is true that time may seem long but be patient because it is really worth it. And as you said very well, good things take time. By blogging regularly you create a real credibility and people will follow you and you will end up having a real troop who will follow you and trust you to buy the products you offer them. It all takes time to set up, but once you get there, it's a real gift.

hello, I love the theme, if you don't want to reveal it, I understand, but its the best. I love the layout, and your articles. Nice work

It's a free WP theme. Bard is the name. I picked it because I liked the simplicity, it fit my brand and it's my brothers Name! Hah

Howdy thankyou so much I am building a PC site and I can't wait to check it out thanks again

In my opinion, Ashton, if you are serious about making this a side business or even a full business, the annual cost of WA--especially if you are locked in at the BF special price annual is well worth the cost for an all-in-one platform. Back when I was in university in the middle nineties one three credit half semester college course was over $400,

This is a meager business expense and a total write-off each year if it becomes a legitimate business for you. The new price causes it to weigh-in at $.82/day, and we humans typically WASTE a lot more than that on a daily basis. Something to think about, because if we suddenly decide to leave here and then later on decide to come back, we will be paying a lot more (worth it even at that price, but we could have been paying half of that). Definitely something to consider.

Don't worry Jeff, I'm not leaving yet🤪 just reassessing. To much good stuff around here!

Whew--good to know! You had me worried there for a moment!

Happy Mother's day to you! Enjoy!
