I am interested in echo friendly living style, but I don't know if there is a big market in it. Is it not a good niche to choose?

Hi-I recently created a website about recycling/repurposing, and I'm looking for others that have similar websites. One idea I'm looking at is to promote small businesses that are repurposing used material like fishing nets.

see first if there are products that are selling, then you know that there is a market for it.

you are interested in......... but are you passionate about it? Your niche is going to be your companion 24/7. not a hobby but your constant. If you are passionate about it you can market it. Because you believe in it. It is a growing market and people are willing to pay extra for safe eco friendly products. You can spin it from many angles and will probably need to. The honest company is a good example of what your niche is and they have an affiliate program you could join and promote their products. Just one of many im sure. Hope that helps. Good luck!

Thank you for your advice. I need to sit down and think about interest and passionate first as you said. How would distinguish the two?

I think it would be a great choice of niche Aliddy. There would of coarse be some competition so you would have to narrow it down a little. Try the Alphabet Soup technique. In Google, type in your keyword (or phrase) then, after it, each letter of the alphabet and see what suggestions come up. E.g. green living "a"...green living "b"...green living "c"...etc. Make sense?

That's a great tip to know. Thank you, jdeen!

There really is no right or wrong niche except for you picking a niche that you aren't interested in and can't stick to. I would think there are tons of books in this niche along with supplies for people who want to do things like build their own gardens year round or make their own laundry soap. If you do a quick search under Amazon for products, I am sure that you will find something. I am sure there are companies out there you can be an affiliate with that do things such as sell hoop houses for gardens and provide compost containers and such. With anything, there is always a market.

I am interested but have a hard time to carry out the echo living style, because as you might know it's pretty difficult and expensive. But I believe that we need to do our best to keep the environment clean. Products like clothes have to be purchased by anyone, but the niche like echo friendly items are not necessary things to many people.
Is it more profitable to gear more toward the "everybody must have items" or items that only small group of people might be interested?
Thank you~
