Today, more and more consumers use the internet to search for the products or services they need. Your small business will gain credibility by having a website. Without one, potential customers will go to your competitors. If you have already a home-made website, and if you provide your business with a professional image it will inspire greater confidence to visitors. For home-based businesses, this is particularly beneficial since you do not have a store front to promote your products or services.

As a small business owner you probably think you can't afford a professional website, but you can't afford NOT to. Today with WordPress you can make your own website with a professional appearance.

Your website should works as your online catalogue. It is much easier to update information about your products and services on your website than in print material. It is an effective way of letting your customers know about new products, events, special promotions, or any new services you offer. So, your website can provide current information and news.

A website is always available to your customers, providing them your products and services when your store is closed. With today’s busy lifestyles, this is a great selling point when making a purchase decision.

No matter what is the type of your business, a website is a great place to show your work. You can include a portfolio or image gallery, as well as testimonials about your work, to demonstrate what makes your business unique.

With your own website, you can keep your customers up-to-date, by including a FAQ page, adding articles or uploading newsletters to answer all your customers questions. What better way to provide them with value added service than by sharing information on your website.

very good points to make thank you

Thanks :)

Alex,

Great points to think about. Our customers service needs and product wants and anything related to both is very important.

Jude and Geoff, please elaborate on the imperfect title part, because it's important for those of us, non-native English speakers to correct this part in our businesses!

Yes Geoff, the title did not catch me but the content hooked me:)!!!!!

Thank you and cheers, Joaquin

Hi Joaquin, thank you for reading my post and for the support! :)
You are very welcome!
Alex

I have to agree with Geoff regarding the title being in imperfect English. It does make the reader think the title was purely for ranking purposes, or alternatively that someone else wrote the body of the article. Please don't take this as being personal - it's meant to be constructive. But apart from that, thanks for sharing :)

Hi Jude thank you for reading my post. I usually ask a friend to correct my English text, but not the title...
Anyway, yes, I'm writing for ranking purposes, but I thought it was supposed to do that. All the activity in WA is an important part of our training, because it forces members to write, to engage, to help and get helped, right? Please let me know if I'm doing something wrong.

Why your business needs a website? ok...with the question mark, that says that you are asking a question, so it should read 'Why DOES your business need a website'? OR, if you're not asking a question, then drop the question mark. It is important to write to rank obviously, but people will take note of the English/grammar aspect as well. Hope that helps :)

Thank you Jude! Of course it helps, it's meant to be constructive, right? Thank you so much!
Alex

Is it definitely meant constructively :)

I know and I appreciate it! :)
Thanks
Alex

Hi Alex this is an excellent post you have raised some really valid points why we should look at doing web site for our businesses. Thank you for sharing.
Alexander

Hi Alexander! Thank you for reading my post. You're very welcome!

I'm going to give you feedback and it's not meant personally. When I read a title in imperfect english, then see the article is perfect English I immediately leave. We can't write only to rank. If I feel this way, I'm willing to bet most of your visitors will think the same. Geoff. The friendly fisherman :)
