I have been 2 weeks trying to activate the comment box in my website and I couldn't do it. I asked in the chat and in the forum and someone told me that it was my theme that doesn't allow comments...

Finally someone could explain to me how to activate it, and it is just so EASY...

  • Login to your website
  • Click on: Dashboard / Pages / All Pages
  • When you pass the arrow mouse over each page it appear "Quick Edit"
  • Just click on Click Edit and then click on the "Allow Comments" square.
  • You have to do this in each page where you want to allow comments.

And its done!

If you go to your website you already have a comments box with the captcha code!

Thanks for reading!

Yes, it depends on the theme you choose. I have the comment box but not captcha code.

Hi MDValle! I don't think it depends on the theme. You have to allow comments in your WrordPress Dashboard/Pages, not on the theme.
Do you have the Catcha plugin activated?

Yes, captcha activated and I quick edit in WP dashboard/pages.

I needed that! Thank you!

You're welcome David!

Thank You that has been something for me too and I had been looking for that too as one of my pages had it so I knew that my theme supported it.

By the way just a short side note don't forget to click the update button before you go to the next page to add the comment box to

Hi ADias,
Thank you for answering the question: "how to activate comments on your website". I had the the same problem. After following your step by step tutorial, I finally did it. Thanks again!
What about " allow pings" following "allow comments"of posts? does "allow pings" need to be checked in the box also or unchecked?
