Thrash-Talk or Words of the Wise?
Quoting wise sayings from the Book of books
- When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise.
- Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
In my point of view thrash-talks are considered reckless words and don't help anyone. The greater possibility is to hurt.
When Thurman assailed thrash-talk to Pacquiao saying "I will retire him, I will crucify him". These are words of underestimation of his opponent and an assertion of the certainty of his victory over his opponent in the ring.
Thrash-talks are double edged.
In the case of boxing
- a thrash-talk is an underestimation of your opponent and you don't have to say it, just prove it in the ring. "When words are many, sin is not absent-you are hurting somebody.
- a thrash-talk may not just be a thrash-talk but it's another face of self-conceit. Because you believe so much in yourself and as if you are an invincible, when you loss, the hurt is more damaging on your part. Why? You are not broad-minded but close-minded and you don't accept defeat.
Do we have an alternative?
Yes, by having the tongue of the wise. This is the only one that brings healing to everyone of us.
In business whether it be online or offline we need to be prudent in our words, if not, people may not support us and will bring defeat to ourselves.
Have an enjoyable journey.

I used to think that you should wait 10 minutes before you respond especially when there is a misunderstanding. I have learned over past year that 10 minutes is not enough. I need like 3 days. i have learned that after 3days/72hours the situation ;looks different because i usually feel different in 3 days.
Thanks for sharing accad,
Maybe in that 72 hours, you have weighed all the pros and cons of bad words over wise words and you have the exact and appropriate response.

Hi Jimmy, Sometimes it is better to keep your own counsel and leave your thoughts unsaid, Alan.
