My eyesight isn't the best at night, but it looks like the lower font is subtle black and as it goes upwards it appears to'green' up. It reminds me of green vegetation on black topsoil. I could be totally off base, but that's my interpretation based on my not so stellar eyesight!

That's a profound interpretation. Black soil really produces robust green vegetation.
I too have a color-blind, I cannot distinguish a black and a blue at night. My eyes need sufficient light to identify those colors. I thought, the appropriate color of the phrase, "greening of people's lives" is green but maybe some contrast could be done.

You hit that right on the head--the logo is great, so a light subtle shade change from bottom to top will create that greening effect better!!
