Be Concerned Enough, Know if you are being sold outside WA

In one of my previous posts I touched about Amazon as partner of Wealthy Affiliate. This is not just an opinion being shoot to members to gain rank here at WA.

Kyle's answer is clear that there is such a thing going on to that direction.

In connection with this may I ask the community if you have been exploring on your website with other platforms for the purpose of knowing how it is being exposed worldwide. Not only being exposed but how do they about your site.

Besides Google and other search engines as the prime watcher between your website and your WA Web Host, there are other ways to know how the outside world know us together with our Web Host.

I tried this with siteprice.org which is the basis of my asking the question. Now, I would ask you to try it by yourself and see your website info.

Take note of what it tells you about your hosting provider. If Wealthy Affiliate is not your hosting provider and it tells something else meaning you are being sold without your knowledge.

What I know is that Wealthy Affiliate is my Hosting Provider and none else and that should be what is known by all other legitimate information seekers.

I'm so concerned about this because all of my sites are under other Web Hosting Providers instead of Wealthy Affiliate.

This is not dramatic at all.
WA buys hosting services with AWS (Amazon Web Services) which is an Amazon company that offers web hosting and related services to large companies.

To me, this choice of service provider is a clear sign that WA has chosen a quality provider for the services they offer us.

It is also quite normal to outsource such services and for WA it's a natural part of the business model. Remember that there are no big building anywhere with a WA logo on top. WA is the ultimate distributed business model.

Other clients that use AWS is Netflix, Dow Jones, Kelloggs, Siemens, Expedia, AOL, SAP, Ticketmaster.

So no need to worry about this. It is a proof of the quality of the services WA provides for us,

Great! At least I am the only one hallucinating. Thank you for th post. Wish I could put emoji just like what’sapp.

John.

Thank you. I have the inkling about it. And I'm worried not because WA is making it a secret but I come to my senses that Amazon affiliate programs should now be open globally to all. There are nations still not covered by Amazon and my country is one of them.

Imagine that my site is being hosted by Amazon and yet I cannot even have the privilege to promote Amazon's product. Is that not unfair?

Hi, why do you say that WA is making it a secret that they host on amazon?

Check out this page: https://www.wealthyaffiliate.com/hosting/
There it says clearly that WA web hosting is hosted on Amazon.

Anyway, you should distinguish between Amazon the buying/selling platform and Amazon the hosting provider. They are two separate entities. So there is nothing 'unfair' about hosting your site on 'amazon' and not being able to buy from 'amazon' in your country.

Also, you can promote your products on Amazon like anyone else. In my country I cannot buy from amazon. Most articles don't even ship to my country. But you bet that I'm promoting articles on Amazon.
The whole trick is to target your sales efforts to markets where Amazon IS selling.

Thank you Wouter for the link. I have read it, it's only now that I come across with that information.

Do you know that I even wrote siteprice.org that they were wrong in the information they gather and they have wrongly identified my Hosting Provider. I requested them to correct their records.

It's a good thing it's brought out here so others maybe informed as I am.

Mine says amazon.om inc as well !

Yelp! see my post link up there. No worries. It is something WA has chosen as a form development creation and hosting services.

You can carry out a lot of programming development in AWS and roll out of software or module for the incumbent platform and have customised API built for interfacing other programming out of AWS such as Site a Rubix and many more.

So, I Guess we are quite safe after alll.

John.

Ok, so more evidences now are coming.

Hi John

I’m not that bothered as I have faith in WA.

I think an earlier comment explained and I’m happy anyway.

That site was infact useful for me as itvsjowed where my websites need adjusting, it’s just ashame I don’t know how to as yet lol

Jimmy and all - please don’t be afraid. I am a data center expert and a consultant for data center hosting.

It is clearly indicated that your website is hosted in Amazon as WA is using AWS - Amamzon Websitr Services , which is software as a service to develop WA.. Site Rubix is a technology that Kyle and Carson bought over a decade ago to develop this platform past.

I believed the current platform is in a hybrid model with Site Rubix sitting it pointing to some module into AWS. AWS can also act as a cloud storage to store text , graphics, and videos in this case, your blog, your power point presentation and archived videos that we can use for reference.

I am believed the future mode of WA would have quite a fair bit of business relationship with Amazon as the sites are filled with good market intel for products and services .

As a bloggers, we all can truly appreacite Amazon technology if we were to merge with Amazon bring the forefront of technology shared but I doubt this would happen - as I believe Kyle and Carson would keep this platform for us to enjoy the best cost around in the internet world and will not sell this company to Amazon - right Kyle and Carson?!.

The above are just my guessing and hypothetical thought around it. But I hope to genuinely help the community here to have a peace of mind, that WA is not hacked - it is well protected and under good security measure, especially WA texist even before all other platforms.

John.

This is absolutely correct. Nothing to worry about.

Amen

John, if that is so no one should be deprived of enjoying affiliate program with Amazon. It's already a year I have been playing and waiting on how to access affiliate programs of Amazon but until now Philippines is not yet included.

I heard some needed the help of WA members to "illegally" (if that's the term) register to Amazon.

Great great post Jimmy!

I am going to check my website(s) right now and will report back...most here at WA so should be safe ?

Yes, please do it. Thank you.

Unbelievable. It says my website is hosted by Amazon.com, Inc.

What??

Why is it not Wealthy Affiliate????????

You see, we all have the same cases. This has to be brought to WA Management.

Immediately!!!!!!!!! A cyber attack by ex-disgruntled member?

Have you brought this to the attention of Kyle? Is he aware of this? This looks pretty serious!!!!!!!!

How can Amazon be getting the credit??????? Or are the credits really due to them???

OMG!!

What do you mean?

I totally understand what you are saying. It says my sites are hosted at Amazon Inc too. Why does it not say Wealthy Affiliate or Site rubix. Does Amazon own Wealthy Affiliate?
I don't care if it does but it would be nice to know.

That's the point. We should know about it because everyone of us has the right to be and affiliate with Amazon.

Why it is so difficult to be an affiliate with Amazon if it is our very own Hosting Provider?

I cannot answer that. I would appreciate Kyle and Carson explaining why our sites are hosted at Amazon inc though

Does it help with setting up amazon links since WA in Canada versus USA?

Great question!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then all WAs should have access to amazon if truly they provide our hosting.

They lie about the number of countries who can affiliate with them, whereas ONLY 12 COUNTRIES in the whole wide world can sign up with amazon!

And now they are hosting my website? Please I want to know too.

I think I understand what you're getting at Jimmy. Using this link http://www.siteprice.org/Tools/who-hosts-this-site.aspx I checked a site hosted at WA and did indeed get Amazon.com, Inc as the hosting provider. Perhaps Kyle or Carson could offer an explanation.

You are right Marion, nobody has the authority to explain this except our Hosting Provider, WA.

Sorry, Jimmy, with all due respect, I am totally confused by this post. What do you mean by "There are many things happening in the back office"?

You as the site owner has your back office which is the WordPress. You can do all things there unnoticed by people who are visiting your website.
So with Wealthy Affiliate as our Hosting Provider, WA has its back office where they are tweaking, doing something about a site. And they can do what they want, they have the control of what will happen to your site. They can manipulate if they want, but they can also you at their best and make your site the best if they also want without you noticing what is happening behind.

Very important info that all WA members have a right to know - we own our sites and pay for he hosting - we need more TRANSPARENCY...

You say:
"What I know is that Wealthy Affiliate is my Hosting Provider and none else and that should be what is known by all other legitimate information seekers.

I'm so concerned about this because all of my sites are under other Web Hosting Providers instead of Wealthy Affiliate."

These two paragraphs seem contradictory.

With your sites are hosted here, the DNS settings for your domains will be pointing at WA's servers using addresses ns1 and ns2 for the domain name mywahosting (dot) com. Is that the case?

All of us here host our website here and Wealthy Affiliate is our Hosting provider. It is the one that gives all the tools and everything so that our website will run effectively on the internet. However, if you seek for the information of your websites outside it will say other thing, it is not Wealthy Affiliate as the hosting provider but in my case, Amazon.com, Inc.

How could that be the information gathered by the outsiders? Why and how siteprice.org has known that my Hosting Provider is Amazon.com, Inc, while what I know is that Wealthy Affiliate?

I asked the question if there is a partnership between Wealthy Affiliate and Amazon and the answer from Kyle was this:
We don't have any direct "partnership" with WA, but their affiliate/associates department are definitely aware of who we are and they work with a great number of affiliates (and properly trained ones here at WA).

Through time, this is only going to continue to benefit you. :)

Now, you can help me solve the issue if you will try to visit siteprice.org and let your website be evaluated there and see what it says about your Hosting Provider. If it says another thing than WA then there is something we want to understand more on this issue.

Excellent Question and hoping to learn as well

We have to understand this because there are many things happening in the back office.
