Hi,

Let me step in as Nata's supervisor here and apologize for any inconvenience these issues may have caused.

We always appreciate hearing from our users because it helps us make our product better. However, as mentioned previously, we don't have an option to get back to the previous interface. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience.

To compensate for our inability to help, we have extended your Premium access for two weeks (until xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx), free of charge. We know it's definitely not ideal, but please rest assured that your feedback has been shared with the appropriate team here at Grammarly.

I wish we could help you resolve this directly, but it’s beyond our capabilities at this point.

Thank you for your understanding,
Kelly

What a LOSER! Really, what use is TWO WEEKS more if I cannot use your app?

I am having difficulty, too, Abioi.

Tell me about it. It is time to call it a day and find an alternative. I am trying Richard's suggestion below. I have installed the extension.

I stopped using Grammarly some time ago because it seemed to regularly "tie up" my laptop. Nowadays, I'm using the free version of Quillbot browser extension (which I only turn on when needed) and the Hemingway App.
:-)
Richard

Hi Richard, one thing I noticed with Hemingway is that it removes many keywords, so I don't use it now. Its made me unhappy with the new Hemingway plus lots of my keywords get replaced with keywords that have nothing to do my overall content. I think it's still new and a bit buggy. It's the same as Grammarly.

Thanks for that, Brenda. I haven't found that but now you mention it I'll watch for it
:-)
Richard

Thanks, Richard. I have installed it, and I am going to give it a go :) I appreciate your comment here.

Well spotted Abie. Hope it gets sorted soon.
Bux

:) The problem hasn't been solved.

Not a quick fix then. That’s frustrating. Is there a way round it for now.

Soon I am going for breakfast...

Breakfast is out of the way :)

Enjoy.

Merci beaucoup, Monsieur Bux!

I have the same issue. What happens is the Grammarly updated version in Block Editor in WordPress tends to go to the bottom of the page and its a struggle to get it to move up to the page. It won't do it. My siblings and I have a business account with them, so we contacted support to let them know it's buggy. Like you, we have not heard back. You are right their support sucks. I need it to help me shorten some sentences to the area where I want you could get the app to go anywhere on the sentences line but not anymore it stays on the bottom and it goes red with a circle. See my screenshot

That happens with me too just keep clicking on it to fix the errors and happens when you transfer the written article from Grammarly to your word press editor it’s like your fixing gets lost in the ether . I’m skeptical about Grammarly that wants all your information input ?

Yeah, tell me about it. I do not always follow Grammarly's suggestion, so I will click dismiss. Especially when using keywords, I leave it as it is. It will try to change the word niche to place- so its wrong, its niche. I click dismiss, and then the red goes away. Yes, it is annoying. It stays at the bottom. It just doesn't want to move up when I ask it to. Sometimes, it scrambles words; I have to fix it. I can see the new version is still buggy. Im still waiting for the new version to fix those bugs.

Yeah! I hear you, Brenda.

They haven't responded to updates yet; they certainly haven't resolved the issues.

I have installed Richard's suggestion to try it out and see if I'm better off.

I appreciate what you're going through, and I am trying to increase their support tickets for them to do something about it.

Yes it had a new upgrade to where it gets all your information online, so I didn't choose it because I didn't want my bank account or debit card details share with them?

Okay, I appreciate your comment here.

Adding new categories, as I am doing now, has provided me with ten topic titles to write about. However, I wonder if these additional categories are also reflected in the niche

Wow!!

Great question, Abie!

I believe the niche research section is static after it is created with the hub blueprint. Just my opinion.

Perhaps Kyle or Carson will answer.

One way to find out is to screenshot everything in each section, create a new category, and check for updates. 😎

Frank 🎸

I think it should be updated; I am slightly confused with my updated categories, as I don't want to convey the wrong perspective to my audience. For example, I am trying to discuss fiction writing, and it is presenting me with fact-finding that doesn't convey fiction. I am having to delete and start again.

But yeah, I thought about doing that... Some were preset, and others were reproduced.

Hi Abie

You can always create a new hub and drill down to fiction writing. You can do it using a free siterubix domain.

Also, have ChatGPT give you a list of keywords for fiction writing, vet them, enter them into your hub, and have the WA AI writer create the article.

Frank 🎸

I knew you'd come up with incredible solutions to my issue. I did that with one article that I asked GPT for assistance before I punched it in the AI Authorship.

Yeah, I am going to have to do that. I was just wondering, though, if it updates, there are ample ideas within those small square sections, too, to include the long tail keywords and unique content ideas. You can literary write a thousand articles.

Hi Abie

So glad I helped you a little.

Yeah, you get ten hubs, so use your spares to create free siterubix domains in ways that serve you best.

I agree that there’s no limit to the number of articles we can write using WA AI with a few work-arounds.

Enjoy Your Day! 😎
Frank 🎸

Yeah, I do that, Frank! :)

I found another way, like unique content ideas. I liked that, and there was a heading there I wanted, so I added it to my tasks and also as a category, and then I got ten branches said to it, like ten more posts I can write about that specific unique content idea.

I thought that was cool :)

Hi Abie

Yeah, I’ve do that, too.

Keep feeding it info and it’ll generate new article ideas.

I also add ideas to Hubs from the WA Niche Finder.

Have fun with it! 😎

Happy FriSatSu! 🥳
Frank 🎸

Right, yeah, I forgot about that... lol.

I have been trying to knock on many posts in the last few days. In 48 hours, I am down to 5,921 and will refresh in 3 days.

I already knocked two today and am working on my third.

I appreciate all your help. Have a great upcoming weekend.

Great job, Abie! 👍👍

Does it take more word cost if producing more content or gives credit back if producing less? How does it work?

While on the subject, I discovered that the optional sect

@Jessiefido
Yeah, I have to ask for a very """"""""SPECIFIC & GENUINE"""""""" reason.

If it writes less, you are refunded the difference. If it writes more, it's a free gift.

Kyle told me this.

That makes sense, Yusuf. 😎

Frank 🎸

Spot on Yusuf, this was made abundantly clear in live chat earlier but some people just have to ask again for whatever reason!!

@Jessiefido
Yeah, I have to ask for a very """"""""SPECIFIC & GENUINE"""""""" reason.

I forgot to copy the outline lolol

If you mean WA, if you don't use it in a month, you lose it. There's no rollover. The WA AI has limitations that only make it useful for some of my monthly output.
:-)
Richard

Thanks, Richard, I know this.

I am asking on an article basis. If it says 1000k and writes you 1271, will it charge you the 271 or not?

Or if it charged you 1000 words but only gave you 911, will it provide you with a credit of 89?

Hi Abie

It charges one credit a word, so I believe it will adjust the credits it charges you up or down according to the final word count.

Frank 🎸

Are you sure? Have you seen it in action?

Ah-ha. I have no idea, so thanks for asking. Hopefully, we'll learn something.
:-)
Richard

Hi Abie

The next time I use it, I'll double-check and let you know for sure.

Frank 🎸

Thanks, Frank :) I appreciate that. I will do the same here too :)

Np, Richard :) I love to learn.

I just ran with another article. It charged me 100 for my outline and 1000 for writing the article, but the AI wrote 1244, and it didn't charge me 244. Go figure!

Yet someone mentions it does. This doesn't make any sense.

Hi Abie

I’m pretty sure it has charged me the extra credits in the past for the additional words.

Perhaps it is intermittent. AI likes to change things around arbitrarily. Lol

I’ll screenshot it if it happens to me again.

Thanks for the update! 😎

Frank 🎸

You'll never lose word credits if it goes over what you asked for Frank, but you will get refunded for the ones if it writes less!

👍🍻🎸😎

Good to know, Nick! 👍😎

Yeah, I’m home, Nick. Great day!

Getting ready to help my wife prepare dinner and we are watching Men In Black II tonight.

We saw the first one a few days ago. We usually see all four episodes once we get started.

I got her a Meta Quest 3 VR headset to use for her meditation. She put it on today and it freaked her out a little. Lol I told her she just has to get used to it. 😎

Yeah, I have to ask for a very """"""""SPECIFIC & GENUINE"""""""" reason.

Yeah! :) Have you seen Yusuf's comment on the thread? After hearing from Kyle, they confirmed that we get the extras for free if the AI writes more than requested; thus, it's a gift. However, they would have given us credit if it had fallen short.

I am ever so thankful to Yusuf.

Yeah, I saw that Abie.

I knew there was a bit of strange behavior with the WA AI writer but I wasn’t exactly sure.

Thanks for the follow-up!👍

Have a great day! 😎
Frank 🎸

At least it has been cross-referenced and sorted lol

I still have lots to write, as mine refreshes in five days... I am pretty busy here, lol, doing outlines and article writing.

Hi Abie

What I do when I'm close to the refresh date is have the WA AI Writer generate enough articles to use most of the credits. Then, I can go back and refine those articles before publishing at my convenience.

Once you generate an article, it stays in your hub for that domain forever, waiting for you to edit, publish, or delete it. 😎

Frank 🎸

That's what I am doing; I also have a backup copy of the outlines and articles saved on the cloud (Google Docs)

Thanks, Frank! I appreciate you.

Haha, our methods are identical, Abie! 👍👍

Wow!!!!!!

What's so 'wow' about it?

I will try to hack it again, rats. Be careful with new sites.

Absolutely! I am still unable to pin it down.

Hi Abie

Are you running a security plugin that could be giving you anomalous information?

Nobody should be finding the site unless they have the URL, so is it additional bot traffic?

Did you let your hosting site support people know?

Frank 🎸

I spent the last 30 minutes chatting with the hosting site support, but they couldn't provide solid facts on my inquiry.

They said that their "Security Optimizer" is clean-coded, and I could trust its stats (though I mentioned numerous times it does not make any sense)

They confirmed an attempt to log in to a 48-hour-old .com premium domain name, but it was blocked. I have the IP address. It is blocked in the website activity log.

"While it may seem surprising that bots can find newly registered domains quickly, it's common in today's internet. Some bots monitor social media platforms, public records, and online forums for mentions of new websites or domain registrations.

Indeed, that is the most important thing."

That latter bit is keeping the IP address blocked.

According to support, it is NOT anomalous information.

It is a brand-new website, and we have only just started doing the structural designs and setting up mega menus as instructed by the client.

Thank you, Frank!

(Bottom line, it is NOT making any sense. However, the hosting business provider is very reputable.)

Hi Abie

I'm sure you're using a reliable hosting platform for your client.

Nothing would really surprise me in terms of bot capability, especially as AI continues to enhance their evolution.

I hope you get it all sorted out quickly.

Have a great week ahead! 😎
Frank 🎸

Haha, Frank! They're not tech-savvy, lol. Things can go south with them. In a way, the website hints at being troublesome, bot-wise, lol.

Authoring & Writing Content

Do you suggest one should have a PayWall on their websites?

A paywall typically restricts access to content; how does that play with SEO and lead generation?

Reco

An interesting read Abie. My own websites are open and free to all, but I do see other websites where they use this. Personally, I just switch websites when I come across this. I can always get the info for free from somewhere else. I'm just a cheap skate. Don't ever go shopping with me, you will come out of the store with an empty basket.
Others will be happy to pay for access, I'm sure.
Bux

Thanks for the heads-up. I am the complete opposite, very generous.

It takes all sorts Abie. A good job we are all different.
I'll remember to bring my credit card when we go shopping.
Enjoy the coming weekend.
Stay with the up-wave.
Bux

Cool, and the typo was corrected :) I look forward...

Implementing a paywall on a website should be carefully considered based on the specific circumstances and goals of the website. Paywalls can be effective for certain types of content, such as premium articles, research papers, or specialized industry reports, and can provide a revenue stream for content creators and publishers. However, it's essential to thoroughly assess the target audience, market demand, and competition before implementing a paywall. Alternative monetization strategies like advertising, sponsorship, or freemium models should also be evaluated.
Paywalls can still function in Incognito mode, as it primarily prevents browsing history and cookies from being stored. However, some paywalls may rely on cookies or user accounts to track access and enforce restrictions. In such cases, users in Incognito mode may experience limitations or be required to log in to access the paid content.
Can you please provide examples of websites that have successfully implemented paywalls?

Thank you for that, Aldrene :) Matt did the below @MattEllis - they mentioned Medium and WA :)

I think the best way to find out is to perhaps run a test at their own risk and see how this paywall behaves.

Don’t know what a pay wall is

"A paywall restricts free access to content, enabling digital content providers, such as newspapers, to monetize their websites. It offers an alternative revenue stream to ad-based models facing challenges like ad-blocking. With the shift from ads to paid subscriptions, paywalls are becoming the primary revenue source for many digital news outlets."

But my question is, is it truly becoming the primary revenue source, and what are the implications for SEO and lead generation? Is it genuinely helping businesses, or are they shooting themselves in the foot?

Thank you for the explanation. I definitely don’t have an opinion. All Greek to me😊

Np Kathie :) I appreciate your comment.

Hi Abie

I think paywalls are ok in most instances, although I wouldn't add one to my site. You could use a paywall with Incognito mode, but you would have to manually sign in with each visit since it wouldn't save your login credentials.

I generally dislike paywalls in the professional world.

When online searching first appeared in medicine in the late 1980s to early '90s, all medical journals were freely available for students and physicians.

These days, the majority of them require a paid yearly subscription or sell published articles à la carte. Luckily, I can read them all for free through my hospital's online library.

It's the same with the biomedical engineering and healthcare informatics journals I read. I need expensive subscriptions to professional associations like IEEE to access many of them.

So, you believe paywalls are accessible via Incognito without paying? And if so, can they be modified in some way?

That's true; last year, I was following up on a blog's herb/peppery section and wanted specialized medicinal remedies, which I couldn't easily fetch.

However, I am happy you can get by with the hospital library and other sources.

Hi Abie

I was referring to the fact that paywalls can be accessed using incognito mode, but paid users cannot automatically stay logged in, which can be viewed as inconvenient.

However, one of our neighbors used to access recipes from a gourmet website that requires a paid yearly subscription. She bypassed the paywall using some method while on their homepage in incognito mode. I'm not sure how she did it, but yes, it is possible by exploiting various security flaws.

Thank you, Frank :) I understand, but imagine if someone is not subscribed. How easy would it be for them to gain access? For example, a webinar here from Incognito can run for a while before prompting a signup.

I wrote the first paragraph and then read your second paragraph, lol - I won't change my reply now.

I explained this to my client, emphasizing that nothing is bulletproof.

I was on a site yesterday, and they've made the image URLs inaccessible. However, using the browser developer inspect tool, you can easily retrieve the image URLs.

Hi Abie

Most likely, the average adult won't have the capability to go around a paywall, but these kids today will be very computer-savvy grownups! However, by then, security measures would have improved, too. 😎

Yeah, definitely a lot smarter than us 🤣Thanks, Frank :)

Lol, You're welcome, Abie. 😎

Thanks, Abie! 😎

I'll definitely check it out.

It works for things like access to courses and apps. But it doesn't work on news sites, where the content is regularly syndicated anyway.

Syndicated content doesn't work or rank well in search engines. Thanks for your input here, Nathan!

Unfortunately, that doesn't stop my local newspaper from trying to put a paywall on their site lol

They're trying to monetize, but perhaps they're shooting themselves in the foot with SEO and lead generation. What would be a good balance here? Possibly, like my reply to Kyle, they already have the traffic base pumped. They can afford to run tests to see how things work.

What do you guys think of paywalls to content?

Do you suggest one should have a PayWall on their websites?

A paywall typically restricts access to content; how does that play with SEO and lead generation?

An interesting read Abie. My own websites are open and free to all, but I do see other websites where they use this. Personally, I just switch websites when I come across this. I can always get the info for free from somewhere else. I'm just a cheap skate. Don't ever go shopping with me, you will come out of the store with an empty basket.
Others will be happy to pay for access, I'm sure.

Thanks for the heads-up. I am the complete opposite, very generous.

It takes all sorts Abie. A good job we are all different.
I'll remember to bring my credit card when we go shopping.
Enjoy the coming weekend.
Stay with the up-wave.

Research journals of all types should be freely accessible to the various communities throughout the world that require them to progress in their work.
