Most of the beginners when they just boarded this boat and start building their websites, the first thing comes to mind is how to make my website famous and get thousands of visitors?, then they google this: how to make your website famous in 24Hours. They only know the word famous, as beginners, they are still babies in this, they have not heard about something called SEO yet ( search engines Optimization), then google results start showing huge topics headlines such: make your website feat google, how to beat up the search engine, or how to be in first page at day 1.!
Yeah, we were all in that boat, it's the enthusiasm, pushed by ignorance.
Yes, true, there are tricks and techniques that can push your website to the top pages, there are techniques that can really fool google, but can't last for long, soon your website will get banned, which means you have to erase it, and build new one with new hosting and new domain.
Business closed.
Black hat SEO are tactics and techniques that trying to fool the way google or any other search engine works, trying to fold google's eyes, technically all those tricks work, but only temporary and practically will lead your website nowhere, google is the most intelligent and smart robot has been ever invented, hence no matter what technique is used, it still solid and robust to be defeated.
You ( beginners ) will come across offers and attempts to push your website to rank higher, and you may even pay for it in order to win the deal, in fact you will be the loser at the end.
Some of the Black Hat SEO techniques:
Content Automation
Doorway Pages
Hidden Text or Links
Keywords Stuffing
Sneaky Redirects
Cloaking
Link Schemes
Guest Posting Networks
Link Manipulation (including buying links)
Article Spinning
Link Farms, Link Wheels or Link Networks
Rich Snippet Markup Spam
Automated Queries to Google
Creating pages, subdomains, or domains with duplicate content
Pages with malicious behavior, such as phishing, viruses, trojans, and other malware.
Just stay away from all the above, work hard traditionally and you will achieve. Just believe in it to make it.

I've heard of keyword stuffing only. Better to stay away from all bad practice and be friends with google.
Yes, people are always looking for short cuts and there are consequences as well as the risk of wasting your effort. Education helps avoid some of these risks.
