Can Wealthy Affiliate Members Be Trusted?

I’m writing this because I feel what happened can deplete what Wealthy Affiliate is all about. Of course, the majority of Wealthy Affiliate Members can be trusted, but occasionally a few bad apples pop up.

Apparently what happened is that I got a comment on my website. The person mainly said that they were referred to try… I guess you can say one of those shiny objects out there on the net. (I’m not going to state what the product or service was).

What happened is that the WA Solicitor convinced a WA Member to try the shiny object because the solicitor claimed they make a chunk of change doing such mess.

Some bad apples may look at WA as a playground to spam other members.

Now, this is me assuming because when we come here and pay for a service...

Being a premium member could lead to some of us letting our guards down a little bit more. Some of us may trust what other say especially if we haven’t been at WA for quite a while or know much about online marketing.

Being that the solicitor is a Wealthy Affiliate Member, a person may be more inclined to say okay or try something new because of some sort of trust that was built.

Wealthy Affiliate Has A No Spam Policy

If people haven’t read the policy that WA has, I suggest you read it.

Before You Even Try Anything That A Member “Claims”…

I would suggest you go look at their profile because it can tell a lot. Look at how long they have been a member. Read their blogs that they have written inside Wealthy Affiliate (if there are any).

Also, what does your instinct say about such claims that were solicited to you?

Not only that, don’t be afraid to ask a question, you can ask members at WA what’s their thoughts about a product or service online that was solicited to you.

You don’t have to blast the solicitor because they might not know about the spam policy, but don’t be afraid to share the no spam policy link to them.

Members who are really building real businesses are too busy building and don’t have time to solicit people about some shiny object business mess.

Another point I want to add is that Trusted Members would never risk their membership here at WA to solicit people at Wealthy Affiliate.

We all came here whether it was a day ago or years ago to learn and network. No one paid to become a Premium Member to be solicited about some sort of "deal".

What Bothered Me The Most About The Comment!!!

As you know, there is a space where people can leave their website name when they write a comment. I went ahead and looked at the commentator's website.

Now, this is going to be a long sentence, Lol. I personally feel that this person is doing a great job with their website and for someone to not just solicit this person out of money, but the time that this person could have spent on their website for a business that has nothing to do with their website is quite RUDE.

People’s time is important as a lot of members have jobs, children, or loved ones complaining to them about getting “a real Job”.

My Suggest Will Always Be This

Don’t let anyone deter you from what you came here at WA to do. The training here at WA Works and the training here is what you should be following.

There is also live weekly training that also can help with ideas that you want to implement when you are building your business.

I know this sounds kind of selfish, but it should be about you and you building your business first.

In Conclusion

Your business should be of the most essence, not on any shiny object that doesn’t work. Yeah, the WA Member who left a comment did say they were out of money, it didn’t bankrupt them, but the money wasted could have been used for better.

Please don’t get caught up in this shiny object solicitations. Remember there is a no Spam Policy here at WA. If you feel you’re being spammed, you can report it not only that, if you’re unsure you can always ask a question inside WA's platform or PM the owners and let the owners handle it from there.

Please Be Safe!!!

Thank you for sharing. Much appreciated. Best wishes.

Delroy

We have both seen our share of these solicitors over the past few years. It's an unfortunate "side effect" (for lack of a better term) of our open discussion forum.

Sometimes I'm surprised we don't see more of it than we do. It's still disheartening none the less.

The way I see it, If you're paying for membership here, you are hiring Kyle as your business advisor. If he doesn't promote it, I don't even consider it. At least not during the first year.

It's too easy to get sidetracked here like I am right now responding to this post........lol

Good to see you again!

Hey Steve, it's so nice to see you too and no I don't want you to get side tracked, Lol.

Anyhow, you made some excellent points and I couldn't agree with you more. :)

Absolute agree! I had the feeling that a lot have changed here last year. Don´t misunderstand me, WA is a great place, for sure the best place on the internet for this goals.
But I see much more of spam I didn´t see before.
I don´t write much here because I need all energy to focus on my goals. But posts from some members I don´t miss and I would love if WA put 2 new things in. A) You can have a flag in the emails you get (when you get like I 150 posts on a day you can easily miss important one). B) Have the possibility to check in a box that you don´t want the post from this person if the person posts.
I know that B) are difficult but some names I remember I delete it right from the start.
The more I look around the internet, the more I´m sure that you should focus only on WA (use personally only from 2 others than WA but was on posts list from much more).

Noteboom the flags in the email sounds like an interesting idea. I personally don't get emails here at WA anymore because it can get quite overwhelming. I tend to just come inside WA and look around for a bit and then move on.

I also agree that WA is a great service and I feel it is the best service out there to help people build a business from home. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. :)

I am indeed sorry to read this. This is my advice to all, always read reviews out there before jumping in with both legs into any scheme. That is why each one of us should ensure our reviews are genuine. At least a couple of reviews or three before investing, irrespective of whether the referral is a WAer or not.

Hey Lanu, I agree that people should read reviews first, but sometimes people may not take the reviews to account being that a member inside WA convinced a person on a more personal level.

Very good, I like it

Hey Oyz, thanks!

Trust but verify on spamming!

Agree Michael!
