I've used a couple of Polls on my site to get some user interaction. The plugin I use is called PlayBuzz. Has anyone else used Playbuzz or another poll generating plugin that

I haven't as of yet but it sounds interesting Bryce. How are you doing with it?

I have had mixed results so far. As of right now there isn't enough data to make a definitive conclusion.

Sjoe!!! Every time something new - what is a 'poll' and what is the use of it?

A poll is a question with a set of answers from which users choose their response. E.G.

What is your favorite sports team?

That's an example of a poll.

Good answer OMOT. The use of a poll is to get user interaction with your site.

I will definitely be checking this out. Thanks.

Great! Let me know if you have any questions.

I'm still working on my site, but it sounds like a good idea!

Yep just a way to get user interaction.

I did a poll on an MLM I wrote about and invite people to my business Facebook page to see the results. I created my poll through Google Drive.

Google Drive? Hmm i'll have to check that out.

Very simple to create and add to your site.

I'm not there yet. Nut I will look into it when the time comes. I think using polls on your site is a good way to generate buzz for yourself.

I agree. Thanks Albert.

Hello,

I never dit or know what this is !

But thanks to you I take a look !

Great. Glad to provide some info for you.

Yes I have before and I do not know what it is about them. Maybe people want to express their opinions. Anyway I always get more response to blog post or post on my main Facebook account when I do a poll. They do work.

Thanks for the feedback B.

I haven't yet but it sounds interesting. Can you share some of your results with us. Thanks

Wayne

Thanks Wayne. Here are 2 example of polls on my site. The results are low which is why I asked the question to see if anyone else has better results.

I will be traveling to England in a few weeks and wanted to get some travel tips from people who actually live there so I don't look like a complete tourist lol. Send me a pri

Where are you coming to visit?

I am going to London and Bath.

Im English and have been all over. Whst you do totally depends on what you are like and what you enjoy? City/Country, Museums/Night clubs. What are you coming for??

Coming just to visit and see London and Bath. Any must sees?

Yes, several people in fact. (I'm being a smart-ass here, forgive me.)

I laughed at that Peter. After I typed my question, I thought to myself "some people are going to respond with just yes". lol

Sorry, live in the middle of US. Enjoy your trip. Be Safe

Thanks Lori!

last time I was in England was 2014

How was it?

I loved it! I landed in Lodon and spent a few days there, I also visited Manchester and Newcastle, then continued up to Edinburgh. Scotland

Ireland is better!!!
Cead Mile Failte (Irish for hundred thousand welcomes!)

Ireland is my next country to go visit!

If your talking Southern Ireland I agree one hundred percent

I was in Ireland July of last year

I'm in Southern Ireland ... Northern Ireland is lovely to ... I go there fairly often ... lovely people, very friendly, actually all Irish are friendly in the country ... cities are a bit less so ... I just travelled from Donegal to Sligo to Galway & back today to pick up my son from college, a 260 Mile round trip ... i love ireland but suppose you could say im biased :)

Yap, London.

Awesome! What are some tips so I don't look like a complete tourist when I hop across the pond from the U.S.?

The only way you can come across as a complete tourist is if you are guided around in a large group.
Just be conscious of your valuables around busy areas.
Let me know if you need any specific help.

I'm in Ireland & have been to Stratford Upon Avon, it is lovely, also Bath, Bristol, Manchester ... all nice ... first of all you have to do some research & decide what u want to see, then maybe James will be able to advise you on a strategy of how to get it done.

England is big & has a lot of major cities, Brighton in the South up to Manchester, Liverpool and so on in the North. There are good rail & bus services ... at least I though so the last time I was there but James would be more experienced than me to advise, I only went on holidays but really enjoyed them ...

Enjoy your holiday ... Mary

Hi I live in the UK in Worcestershire, where they make the sauce, close to Stratford Upon Avon where the bard was born otherwise know as William Shakespeare, tell me what you need to know and I will try to help you

Just any tips on getting around. I know I'll be visiting London and Bath during my trip. Thanks so much!

If you drive hire a car, England, as you are aware, is tiny compared to USA and therefore most places are only a few hours drive. London is not my favourite place but non the less there is much to see and do. Bath is a beautiful city dating back to Roman times and has the finest examples of Georgian architecture in the country a lot to see. I hope you enjoy your stay. If you need further help please let me know

Thanks James!

Well, I haven't been in the UK for a long time. But, good luck.

If you could offer 1 piece of advice to people starting at WA this week, what would it be? Think of things that really opened the doors for you once you learned something.

Attend the weekly training and never be afraid to ask questions.

The only stupid question is the one that is not asked.

Success at affiliate marketing is probably much like building a pyramid -- one stone at a time.

For sure. It doesn't happen overnight.

This is not a Scam project.

Agreed!

Never give up, never surrender

Persistance is key.

Wish you every success on your WA journey. Looking forward to working with you

Just follow along with the training. Stay focused. Avoid analysis paralysis.

Yep learning the basics in training is a must.

That we are here to help each other succeed.

For sure.

Many times I heard it said, "This is not a race but a journey."
Or, "You're only racing against yourself.".

Here's my own take on those words of wisdom:

Respect, embrace and enjoy the process.

Yep. It is a marathon not a sprint.

Don't hesitate to ask questions here! The support here is great and there are people to answer your questions!!

I agree. WA is full of people willing to help.

Set a schedule for when you will work your training. If you think you know it, listen to others. I have been surprised what I have learned from young minds. I love how it turns my brain on the more ideas I hadn't even thought of before.

I like that Majorie!

Out of curiosity, do any of your sites have a place where visitors can opt-in to receiving something like a weekly e-mail? If so, did you do this with the help of a plugin?

Check out Thrive Leads. You can use all kinds of banners and sidebars and downloads and pop-ups to encourage people to subscribe to your list. If you add something of value to your niche -- a guide or an ultimate list -- you can offer that as a free download to entice subscribers. There's a psychological aspect to downloading something, and it should increase your subscribers' level of engagement.

Then, you can use MailerLite to do the sending of your newsletter. It's free for your first 1,000 subscribers.

Just throwing some more options your way. They say the money is in the list...

they can on both my sites

it all depends some are plugin or better still you can use some code to enhanced the functionality.

Thanks.

If you use a service to deliver the email (newsletter or blog post) they will give you a choice. Usually, you will have a choice of HTML, shortcode or plugin. I use the shortcodes and plugins. I have been using Mailchimp. I started using it because it was free for a few hundred email list subscribers.

Free is always good!

You can do this with the plugin SumoMe and also with the platforms Mailchimp or Aweber. This is exactly what I'm struggling with right now - which one to go with. I've joined them all to play with on my practice site but I don't know the conclusion yet. IMO Aweber has the most user friendly layout but their standard forms are ugly. Maybe SumoMe is the one, but I'm not sure yet... It will be interesting to read the answers on here... :-)

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll take a look at these and let you know what I choose.

Thanks for posting, I'd like to know also.

You bet!

That is a good question I am watching for the response.

Hah seems like a lot of people would like to know.

Hi there
I'm not at that point yet, but I will watch replies with interest
Cheers....PB

Sounds good!

Still working on my site, bet will keep that in mind. Thanks for sharing.

You can use a plugin or an Autoresponder.
I use an Autoresponder on my sites.

Not looking for an autoresponder. I am looking for a box that is similar to other site that say "Enter E-mail To Sign-Up for Newsletter". Then people submit their e-mail address that is consolidated into an e-mail list for me.

That is what an Autoresponder is, it builds your list.
Alternatively you can go to your dashboard on your
website, scroll down to plugins and click add new.
Type in the search field Autoresponder.

Ok cool. I will check it out!

Hi Ken, when you add the Autoresponder plugin, does it automatically set up that 'box' for people to submit their email address? I have no clue how to do these things being a couple weeks new. I would love to add this sooner rather than later thanks!

Patsy,
When you add the AutoResponder code from "TrafficWave"
for example the box for people to submit their email address
is there. The plugin, not sure, I do not use them.
I believe however, that the box should be there.
TrafficWave also has great training included.

You mentioned in the previous comment to go to the dashboard, scroll to plugins and add a new one then to enter autoresponder in the search field.

I don't have TrafficWave to get the autoresponder code. I may laugh later at how easy this must be but for now.....no clue.
How do I get TrafficWave? and mail chip that was mentioned before if I need it. Do I just use the search for help?

Thanks!

Patsy, We are not allowed to share personal affiliate links here.
I am an affiliate with TrafficWave dot net
and I use MailChimp dot com for one list only.
You can find then at these addresses.
I have used TrafficWave on my websites for years.

I didn't realize they were personal, that's why I didn't see them when I did a search on here. I thought they were through WA. I'm still at the beginning of my lessons so I have a lot to learn still.

Thank you for the help and information :)

My pleasure Patsy, always here to help guide.

We all are familiar with Adsense, Click Bank, Commission Junction "CJ", etc. Out of curiosity, has anyone had any success with contacting companies in their niche and pitching

I have not tried it, too new.

Haven't tried it yet. Thinking that may be more successful with a more developed site (longer presence on the internet). New ventures make advertisers nervous. It would me.

Yeah I understand that fully.

i have google adsense on mine, and my WA banner. my adsense links has been getting an increase in clicks lately.

That is good to hear.

Ads help when you have massive traffic on your site(s). Personally, I would keep my sites ad-free.

Cheers.

Good point.

Yes , if you did google adword then you'll have to pay a daily fee ,that depends on your budget , and you can choose how your ad will look like .
After a while you'll see viewers clicking on your website .

Alwi

you right sisi

I sold on ad to a firm in my niche but I have found this to be difficult to do with repeat success.

Do you feel like it was too much effort for what you got out of it?

Not really. Keeping up the effort is part of this business.

I've heard some do well but it really depends on traffic

Yeah I agree.

I have not had the experience, yet...

I have an add for Ex-lax on my Sneezing Blog that seems to be working. When you eat a couple of Ex-lax you too scared sneeze

I know a blogger that does it but the traffic rate on her site is massive. Therefore, i believe if you have the desired traffic flow to your site, you might get a deal as described.

Since massive is a relative term, do you have rough numbers on her monthly traffic?
