The Prospective Buyer

From a post about training for traffic that generates buyer leads, I began this as a reply, only to discover that this would read better as a post instead. Here it is:

This post caused me to do some research, and what I learned is that a qualified buyer is one who has chosen to purchase your product or service.

Of course, that will depend on the numerical value, as there are some requirements on whether a person is qualified to purchase a car, rent an apartment or purchase a house.

That said, I found a website post that explained a few things, that perhaps we are looking at this from the wrong end of the tunnel...so to speak.

We need to consider the buyer's journey.

What brought them to your site?
How did they get there (online search, social media, etc?)

There are three things in a buyer's journey:
Awareness
Consideration and
Decision

We can only take strides in bringing the readers in for a closer look, we cannot force them to buy. That would be salesy.

We offer them our experience and knowledge to aid them in a better understanding so that they can feel better about whatever they were searching for, a product, a service, or simply some good advice.

Traffic comes and goes. What makes them potential subscribers or customers will increase the chances that they may make a purchase. It's a number game and the more finely tuned your website is, the more finely tuned audiences will be attracted to your website and sales will increase.

Whether your site is an affiliate marketing or an e-commerce website, the more people who visit will increase the chance that a purchase is made.

We receive the training on how to bring traffic to our websites, and maybe the emphasis needs to be from another angle, to round out what we have learned and discovered about website traffic. Something to consider.

I would like to see some training on how to read our website traffic and how to fine-tune our website to capture that audience. This would be a great training idea for ALL Premium members.

Good stuff, Rudy. Yes, that's the quandary -- how to lure the traffic to your site, and then how to keep them there until they buy. Soon I'll be jumping into that task with both feet, to get people to my boutique.

I think it will be really fine to see how much we can move forward in the next year...or even the next week...any progress is, to me, a cause for celebration.

Thanks, Fran!
Yes, any progress forward is cause indeed...

Rudy

You need to get into the conversation that is already taking place in your prospect's mind. If you can do that, you have a high chance of turning them into a buyer.

Excellent advice, Phil!

Thanks, Fran.

I like your idea of finetuning. Now I've started an online business blog, all my research for that is helping my other website too.

I've discovered to focus on conversions not clicks and make the affiliate product or service essential to the help you are giving. e.g. In "How to make healthy green smoothies" a fast blender is essential for the process so then I would recommend my fave brand.

Make the affiliate product/service essential and mention it often so the reader knows you trust this product/service.

Cheers
Alisa

it takes an individual seven times to see something before they make an informed decision to click something and go purchase what was proposed to solve their issue.
Great insights Rudy and thank you.

How do we connect new content, and categories to our created menus?

You can assign your posts to their respective categories, once you have created them.

Your categories can get added to a created menu in appearance > menus of your WordPress sites back office.

If you look categories in the magnifying glass top menu, you'd find resources on the topic.

Go to the dashboard on Wordpress then go to Appearance then click on Menus.
- In Menu Name choose the menu you want to edit.
- On the left under Add Menu Items choose from page/category/post/custom
- select what you want to add and click on ''add to menu''
- you can drag the item up and down and in a bit if you want it to join another menu item.

Hope that helps.
