HOTTTTTT!

We Northwesterners (US) are not used to the kind of heat we are having lately. A few weeks ago Seattle broke the record at a whopping temp of 108 deg Fahrenheit on JUNE 28!. That's
42.2 degrees Celcius.
June is known for warming temps, with foggy cold mornings that melt to clear blue skies by noon...Well, It did in California.

Mid August, we expect to see some heat...The high 70's - low 80's is hot...up here, lol...

In the last couple of days, our heat has hit the upper register, soaring into the low to mid 90's.

Of course, fire season has been 'heating it up' for the past few weeks and that has created a lot of smoke that travels from the fire areas to the non-fire areas.

August is also the month to see the Perseid Meteor shower, and I think I will need to take a drive east to see them. The sky here is thick with a smokey haze, which makes for interesting sunsets. I can see Jupiter at night when the sky is clear.

And my favorite constellation, Orion, (thanks to reading 'Follow my Leader' as a kid), is visible almost year-round..

I have been busy with life, that is something I make sure to balance with the online work. I have some cool things I am working on right now and will explain in a later post.

Alrighty, stay cool when you can, stay hydrated with water...better than coffee or alcoholic beverages...look it up..grin...

We're used to that heat here, but we also have air conditioning.

Water definitely keeps you hydrated the best. Try to stay comfortable until your heat wave is over. 🥵

Thanks, Willow!
The nights are cooler, and with the doors open, the heat escapes out of the house the same way the heat escapes when you open the oven door...grin.
Water is the beverage of the day for sure!

Rudy

Wow, that is hotter than Vietnam. We are at a cool 29 deg C.
Grin… I thought you said Gin for a moment..lol.
Stay safe
Stephen

Yeah, Stephen, that is a nice temp, more along my style of weather!
No, no gin, just water, but they do look alike...grin.

Rudy

It is always hot in Arizona in the summer, and I don't (maybe want to remember) how I stayed cool(er) without an AC for 2 summers, in a travel trailer. Maybe it was Heat Amnesia, I don't recall.

My friends from the dog park, Rick and Yolanda, said, there is something waiting for you and your dog at Home Depot, Turned out it was a new $400 portable AC. Thanks, Rick and Yolanda!! That's a nice thing to have.

Rudy, Reflectix Double Bubble, see if you can get that at HD for a total light block treatment and window insulation, that you can remove or replace for a cold bedroom also.
Buy 4 feet X 25-foot roll.
If the window height is 4 ft or a little less, Skip to the width,
So coming off the Reflectix roll measure the width of the window.
Add the depth of the frame, for each side of the frame.
So that was W + 2 frame depths. The extra side material should hold the big piece in place.
if your window is covered by a curtain, you won't see a view or the Reflectix. You will be cooler. Hey Man, Rudy is Cool!

Suzay

Wow, Suzay, that's a great idea. I have looked at do something like that, and by hearing from someone, I'm more likely to see if I can pick some of that up. !
Thanks!

BTW, AZ heat is only hitting the 80s right now...king of like their winter weather...grin.

Rudy

Reflectix double bub is more resilient, all reflectix have amazing r-6 value for as thin as it is
Good night Rudy!
Zzzzzzzz

That will be on my list of To-Do things for Sunday!
G' Night, Suzay!

Rudy

I hope you can keep cool Rudy. I'm not looking forward to our Summer here in Queensland Australia. Our winter has hardly had a day under 70f. All the best. Jim

Thanks, Jim. Hope your summer doesn't get too hot, too!

Rudy

Wow Rudy!
That temperature sounds scorching
Please stay safe

Yep, it is hot...am staying cool as best I can without any A/C. The house gets pretty warm throughout the day, and the cross breeze is non existent. Smokey conditions dont allow to keep the doors open. But hey, the nights are cooler!

Rudy

Just as the UK

Me staying hydrated. Lol. Back again.

Lol
Beer for your hydration
Priceless!
